some nice heads in that last batch - the guy with the watch and the guy with the hotdog both seem like there shoulders are too far over to the left - and the hotdog one looks really off balance... try flipping the image and taking another look.

avis - THX DUDE!!! glad you like. it was my favorite model again, and he like, posed, but he would never give times for his poses, and he would change at random, so everybody was like, scrambling to get stuff down because we never knew how long he would hold something. sometimes one minute, sometimes 30 seconds, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 15...you never knew! @_@ so it was really challenging, but i like that. i also tried that exercies i mentioned to you...it's REEEEALLY hard!!! but, i think itll be good practice...i'll need it anyway for portraits, so... thx for stopping by; see you soon!

    wip and 'trait. good times.

Hey Purb. Thanks of the nice comments and the motivation. You're doing some really cool stuff here, and I can get a good feel for what I need to do after seeing how much you have improved over time. I'm definately liking the pen sketches, and can see what you mean about anatomy in perspective. Thanks again. Take care,

B-Man - heeeeeeey!!!!!! good to see you again man! your new book is REALLY kickin! i'll be getting a new computer sometime soon...i CAN use this one, but it just moves so slow when you drag windows around, or when you try to pan in a drawing, that i've just been like, . but i'm still drawing. will scan and update sometime. see you soon, man. take care!

so yeah, my computer's somewhat fixed...i ended up disabling my drivers, so now my computer actually starts up, doesn't crash all the time. so that's good. been doing some freelance work, actually, so i'm really happy about that. technical drawings in illustrator, which isn't the most fun thing that i've ever done, but it's a start, and it's pretty easy, just time consuming. 'twas my parent's 30th wedding anniversary recently too, so i wanted to do something for them. good good vector drawing.

    see y'all oval!

so much work here! I actually love your quick life sketches the best. I know how hard it is to capture info about people when sketching them quick.. but you really seem to capture it well

sup dudezors....looking good. Your anatomy is starting to gel really nice. Only thing i would say about your digis is that they are still looking a bit rough. Flesh em out a bit more with hard and soft edges and they should pop nicely.

    Thumbs up

    Nice portrait!

I really like the ones you do that are like this one.. just value and how it shows the form.

Also really nice muscle studies and everything.

bigjoe - hey man, thx for stopping by here! about life drawing, i see it as a tool to help imagination drawing, so that things from the imagination won't be stiff but will have a lively look about them. imagination drawing teaches you what to look for, "how to see", so to speak. so really study the ideals, proportions, shapes, etc, and then apply the "exceptions" you see in the model to the ideals that you have already learned. i think that will help. again, thx for coming; i'll see you soon man!

ditch - thanks bro! lots more where they came from, when the new computer comes in. peace!

tet - hai, gambarimasu! painting and edges, ka. wakarimasu! i'll pay more attention to them next time. hows things going? i'll try to call next week if i don't forget...being an old man and all... :uncle:

bbbbbbbbbbbbbb! - thx! the colors are quite off from the original, as you can probably tell. waaaaaay too warm. i could've color tweaked it and made it look correct, but it's a study, and i would feel that's cheating. i dunno. i think the form came out well, i need to get better at eyeballing colors and stuff. anyway, talk soon man. take care! 8D

p s - thx dude; i really like those too! i would definitely recommend trying it out; copic sketch markers, brush pen tip. it'll help your painting, and it's not as messy. they bleed heavily, so be careful if you do. take care, and i'll see you in your thread.

so...34 pages in my sketchbook were waiting to be scanned. today, just a small sampling. i will upload most of them when i upgrade my system. see y'all soon!

That's a massive bass. I really like the marker sketches of the drawing people. In fact, I like all these little pen sketches in general! Proportions are a bit awkward sometimes, but you can't win em all. The amount of them more than makes up for that. They've improved pretty much, from what I can see.

    b - nope...this one's just for you.

yng - i like the marker ones too. proportions, still battling to get them right, but it's not always the most important thing. but, still needs work...i'll keep on pushng. thx for stopping by man!

Hey dude, nice updates. That really is a big bass guitar... Digging the new study; I'd say push the lighter tones more. Comparing it to the original, many parts of it seem too dark.

Hey Purb! Long time no see! I've been away and busy with some pretty big life changes the last 6 months or so. You've made a lot of progress since then! I'll hopefully be back posting and rejoining the sketch group within the next week or two. Keep up the good work bro!

jus - hey man. sargent study, definitely too dark. after i finished, i tried tweaking it a little, and it came out nice with a hue shift, but i am determined not to "cheat", and would rather train my eyes to paint it right rather than tweak. form looks okay (needs edge work though), so i call it a half-win. thx for the crit though, definitely can't put anything past people...y'all are too smart! hope all's going well with you this sept, dude. tell me about it when you get back. peace!

zhonked - my man! can't wait to hear what's been up with you. hope it's been for the better. see you at sketchgroup sometime soon!

b - yeah, colors...i'm gonna have to start over again...her face and skin color are coming out hooooooorrible. always on the grind, you know. keep being productive, keep making that hottness man!

zen - hey dude. those are just warmups before life drawing, just pushing the pen around a bit, loosening up the fingers, you know. they're kinda messy, but they're done on the train, so i don't really care. but, it's helping with my strokes, and my control. definitely recommend it man. talk to you soon!

    soooooOOOOOOOOOO...

i'm a tease. i finally got the new computer, but i don't have time to upload all the scans done so far. so you'll have to settle for studies and works in progress. sry to disappoint, but i'm sure you're glad i'm still alive. i'm doing science and i'm still alive.
