Wow, you got all the muscles in your head! Now what happens if you want to draw fat people? Great work man!

faust - thx dude, but of course, ill never want to draw fat people! nah...well, its happened before, i just need to practice drawing them. and no, i dont know all the muscles, but im studying them so i will have them all in my head. using bridgman plus barchay's anatomy for the artist, i think, if i put in the time, ill eventually get them all down. and from there, its refining my knowledge of the body for the rest of my life. maybe ill draw some fat people for you when i get a shot. take care, bud.

so, this year's round of good-bye presents for the nurses looks a LOT better than last year's. i may fiddle with them a bit more, to make the girls' faces pop a bit more...we'll see

    feed me. see more.

Some quick notes on your newest one.

    1) That hand that I circled is badass. It just feels like a hand a really nice one Instead of it being labored over and forced.

    2) The heads seem very flat from a facial point of view. I don't know if you want to do this this way to make it more stylistic, but it seems to be a problem that plagues you often in your drawings. Try this exercise to help. make an oval and then put a cross section of lines on that oval. put a circle on the intersection of the X section. Now draw another and rotate that oval up down left or right. To get a better picture of what I am talking about think of it like an eyeball with no lid. The shape of the circle will change dramatically when moved from one side to the other. Sometimes its a circle, sometimes its a narrow slit of an oval. Now apply this to a face and keep in mind that the whole thing will change with movement.

The rest of your anatomy comes out pretty well. It is only with the faces that this happens.

tetsuo - thx dude, glad you like. yeah, the angle of her face is really off, its more that i messed up on her nose and her eye...i shouldve put the nose further to the left and her left eye (right side of the page) waaaaaay further to the left of the page. i think i got about halfway through that and realized that i royally messed up on her face, but i didnt want to have to scan it again and have the possibility of it all not lining up again, forcing me to start from scratch. ugh. so i was lazy and figured she wouldnt know which parts were wonky. i shouldve paid more attention in the sketch phase...im noticing that lately with a lot of my faces the anatomy is waaaay off, so i need to pay more attention when im doing faces. thx for the crit, youre another person that brought up the fact that my faces are messed sometimes, so i will definitely pay more attention to that. take care, ill see you round the boards.

so, just an update of some old stuff (from like, last summer) that i realized i hadnt ever scanned. the nurses leave in about 6 hours. theyre like sisters to me; ill be really sad when they leave. heck, im sad now, but the new nurses seem like pretty good people, so i hope it works out well.

    man, you´re beeing productive!
your pencil drawings have come a long way!
i really enjoy this one: http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/9...le0334a4mp.jpg
only crit would be that the girls face looks skewed.
the eyes, nose and mouth is not in the middle of the basic shape of the head.

    keep up the fine work!

AHA!! I think i might have found your problem with faces purbles!!

Its the eyes. I believe you are having a problem with rendering asian eyes....

The upper eyelid is throwing you off. I notice that in most of your non-asian figures the eyes are better. I think you are paying too much attention to the upper lid as your guide. Maybe you can check out the lower lid line that it forms with the other eye and then go from there. I used to have that same problem until i got "asian eye drawing magic cream"! It works wonders! Seriosly though try that out....start the angle of the eyes from the lower lids and then up from there....hey it may not work but its worth a shot.

tetsuo - thx for the tip man; its always good to try out something new. i need to do more studies from ref to help me actually see what my problems with them are and the difference between them a western eyes. again, thx for making me aware...ill try it out, hopefully itll be in my next post or so. take care!

i woke up today and my middle finger was like, all pins and needles. i didnt think anything of it, until i was at work and it was still pins & needles. and at lunchtime, it still felt the same way. and even now, almost 19 hours later...still no change. has this ever happened to you?

Dropping in to say I think your heads and faces have been getting better man - keep it up.

Man, I resisted the urge to draw horns and a moustache etc etc on that pic of you....

Dude you're slacking, soon I'll have more pages than you No serious, your portraits are becoming better, I like that monkey-skull and the foreshortening in your last post. How about some big master study or something? Or just continue, it's cool too

ia - hey man, good to see you. ive been good, just busy. thx dude; glad you think theyre getting better. ive been paying more attention to them lately so im glad to see that its working. and yeah, im glad you didnt draw that stuff in, cause as you know there is absolutely no fun allowed in this sketchbook. none. oh, there's CHAMPAGNE in this sketchbook. but you dont want champagne; you want fun...

asoir - thx dude; will do. you take care now, ya'hear!

shin - thx man. ive actually been inspired by you to work more with shading and value; you make it look so appealing. so hopefully i won't be lazy and will start putting more value into my studies. thx for the inspiration dude; keep it up.

faust - nah man, it just seems that way. the slacking has been mostly in the scanning than in the drawing. glad you like the portraits and stuff. sp's: more to come. master study: hmm...we'll see... take care dude; keep up the good work.

    i love 2-wheel vehicle!

enjoy nice life with motorcycle & scooter.
