Hey Jesse, good to see you posting again. How are things going at AC? I'm really diggin that last one. Nice color, nice linework. Fingers might be a little too stubbly, but I love it anyway.

groover - thanks man yeah the hand is kind of jacked up... oops AC is cool and intense, i am in product design so i have a lot of other work beside drawing and painting now. actually i do little of that these days unless i take time to do it.
attempting to try and draw from life outside at PCC, it has been along time for me... damn rough

trying out gouache for the first time in a non-colour swatch way. this was really fun, but rather confusing for me because i wasn't sure what i was doing. kin dof just enjoying the process.
i only used lemon yellow, magenta, vermillion red, ultra marine blue and white. does anyone know anything about brushes i was using a round and it was kind of hard to control it when i was laying paint down in such a small study...

endregan - hey bud it has been awhile but don't think i haven't been checking your progress as well you are doing damn good these days. ah yes those parts are welded and hand cut it is 20 gauge cold rolled steel. i had some help with the welding since i am not that comfortable with it yet.

Great stuff Jmac, i cant believe more people havent posted here, your work is really great and varied.
I think ure little enviros and vehicles and stuff arereally great, some of thise larger would be ace. I think your use oif lines is really great - love the thin lines you use - what do u use to get them so thin.
The only thing i see is that you tend to outline alot of your drawing instead of using the bigger lines to show form and stuff. It makes them look very flat, id try and stay away form that a bit if i was you.
The more i look the more i like it, the stylaized faces and stuff are great.
Thanks alot man, i really enjoyed looking at your works.
Keep posting and working, your doing ace
September 14th, 2005 #25
PHATandy - hey thanks. you are right i do tend to outline alot it is habbit from my graff'n days... heh when you ask to see them bigger you mean draw them bigger or just want as bigger image to look at? i use HI-TEC-C 0.3 and Pigmentliners mainly. the HI-TEC-C flows really nice IMO so that is why i use it.
ok here is some of the stuff i did lately i can scan and post it all or i would be here all nite, and plus alot of it is really shitty anyways. enjoy and feel free to crit if you see something. it's always appreciated.
^ sp's done during my lunch break

i must say i'm a large fan of this thread..
i like how the work is really diverse, you've really got a handle on different media. you should check out ink and brush, just for some variation, your work looks about 99.9% linear. the gunshot self portrait was the winner for me..
September 17th, 2005 #27
Ryan - hmm i think i will try somehting like that, it could be really fun yeah linear is my middle name it seems, i tend to always work that... hmm what would help me get away from that to help explore other styles? thanks for posting as always it is appreciated
