Those have to be some of the worst character designs I've ever seen. Looks like graffiti by some 13-yr. old. Poor Mel Blanc must be spinning in his grave.

Looney Tunes have had hundreds of spinoffs, many of which really weren't very good at all. Whether this turns out great or terrible, the one thing it's not going to do is ruin the original Looney Tunes.

I'm sure people said the exact same thing about Tiny Toons, but I didn't know a kid who didn't love them.

I'm gonna wait and see how this turns out. The style is interesting, but the designs themselves leave much to be desired. If you took out the colours, they'd be really hard to tell apart.

"We all flipped for it," David Janollari, president of the Kids' WB, said this week. "We just said, `Wow, what a great way to take the classic Looney Tunes franchise that has been huge with audiences for decades and bring it into the new millennium.'"

That says a lot right there after having seen the characters. No wonder I thrive on British comedy. What sort of qualifications does it actually take to be in charge of television? Intelligence, creativity and imagination don't seem to really be a requirement.

You're right--that statement says so much just based on the vocabulary he chooses. To him, it's a franchise.

    awsome,I can't wait...look at that character design...

Actually, the show will, probably suck, and the color choices kinda suck, but the designs are not so bad. Its just not so good that they did it to classic characters instead of creating new characters. Its all about the money...

Maybe it'll be ok,who knows...I'll check it out when it comes out.

"bring it into the new millennium" is always a huge ass clue that anything is going to turn out lame. Take angry looking things or smoldering "with generic rage" as Gabe would say, and the execs think it's instantly cool with 'tude.

    Legacy.. pff..

Those things look like crap, so I'm sure they will be a big hit with kids. Maybe it's b/c I'm nearly 22, but the crap on TV they aim towards children now should be outlawed. I blame Ritalin for it being so popular. That stuff turns children into zombies who will pay attention to paint dry if you tell them to watch it. I'm surprised they haven't come out with a show called "Paint Drying Robots". Why do children need Ritalin? I'll tell you why. It's because junk like this is all they have to watch on TV. They are bored at home and it transfers over to school too. FOR GOD'S SAKE, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! Also, any hit show now has to have merchandise, so if they make the "Paint Drying Robots" they'll have to make the "Paint Drying Robots Card Game". I swear if my parents could have got me Pokemon cards for my birthday back in 1989 I would have burned them with my G.I. Joe butane lighter.

...Oh god... What a terrible idea, I could see if this was just some spin-off series for a good laugh but not an actual series idea.

I am sorry if I have offended anyone by trying to be humorous about Ritalin and by the comments I made about what it does. I did not intend to offend those who have ADD. I wasn't even thinking about it at the time, but am glad SJ Bennighof brought it to my attention. My intent was to be humorous, not offensive (except maybe to WB). For others who I might have been insulted, I am deeply sorry.

I'm not quite sure, but to me (and it's only my opinion) it looks like they went ahead and either, gave the creative team or it was thought by that team that the mandate was to draw the absolute antithesis of Bugs and the rest of the gang that we have come to know. Chuck Jones' genius in part laid in using soft curving lines that seemed to defy the articulation of the human hand to produce them. By contrast sadly here we now have angularly pointed characters that not only seem to pander to the lowest common denominator in terms of shapes but also seem to be incapable of showing even a fraction of the wide range of facial expressions (unless you count the subtleties in the difference between psychotically grinning and sneering in anger) that were all part of the charm of LooneyToons. The color coding is truly a shameless ploy and a grab at the pre-tweeny and tweeny market..and not a grab at the timeless quality that preceded it. And just on one more aesthetic note...a team of pupil-less characters? ...didn't they go out with Rob Liefeld and Youngblood? And just before I end my rant...Loonatics seems awfully close to Lunattacks...

YES YES YES! You've put your finger right on it! It's Loony Toons as "reimagined" by Rob Liefeld! The perfect description.

And still, as I said before... Worst Idea Ever.

Here's something of a teaser trailer for the show. Character designs were bad, but the animation looks worse...

The more I hear about this (and knowing the history of Looney Tunes), the more I'm convinced this is going to be a satire, poking fun at the exact things we've been criticizing it for.

No, I don't think it's going to be a satire. From what I've read, this is the studio heads' idea of trying to capture some of the Teen Titans' audience. I really don't understand that since Warner Brother's owns both properties. They are only fighting amongst themselves.
Just be grateful that they didn't anime Bugs to cash in on the current Japanime craze.
