Hooo boy, let's play catch - up.

Jeri: Thanks very much hon, means a lot to me to hear that

0kelvin: Awh geez Thank you Eric, I'm glad that you're looking past the cute. February has been a bit better, so thank you for that I will be showering you with Miis very, very soon!

Lefran: Hmm, wherever could you have read that? Thanks so much, here's hoping something comes out of it.

Tex: Thanks for being so supportive. My sexy new jacket ripped the other day though That's what I get for shopping at the Gap...

Nico: It warms my heart to see someone reading my artwork so clearly, especially the posture. Cold, sick and contemplative was what I was going for. You're very close to the real story, but I don't want to give too much away until I finish the comic.

design: *laughs* I bow to you, my fellow Katamari fan. Thank you for the comment!

So, it looks like I have a monthly sketchbook, rather than a daily one. I'm trying guys, I swear!

This is one you've all seen before, so I am just nestling it here for safe keeping. Here's praying that next year is way different.

Steph's Brain Farts (NSFW): 11/17 - Creatures and CTN

On that note, I confess that I have fallen in love again. With these amazing lumps of clay. So I did a couple of doodles of myself and my co-worker (Hi, Vear) as "Purple and Orangey-Brown". There isn't meant to be a squence here, just two images I stuck on the same canvas. These are way quick one-shots, so you may see some more as boredom sets in at work.

Steph's Brain Farts (NSFW): 11/17 - Creatures and CTN

It's fun to watch your life darwing skills slip helplessly from your fingertips. This kitty is a reminder of the fact that I need to draw from life more.

Steph's Brain Farts (NSFW): 11/17 - Creatures and CTN

Finally, a self portrait dump. See? I'm not always emo. Sometimes I'm bratty, sometimes I'm vengeful and sometime's I'm retarded!

Steph's Brain Farts (NSFW): 11/17 - Creatures and CTN

    Thank you for looking guys

    hehe i wonder where ^_^
such cute stuff, love those sp's, how do you get it to look more watercolourey and less bold etc, im veeery uneducated and new to digi painting, and that particular style as in terms of colouring is something i'd look to emulate myself, not copying of course! but try myself type thing and adapt, also cute cat, i have some sketches exactly like those in the depths of my sketchbook somewhere ( although not as good!)

you have no idea how awesome that valentine's (poo) is for me. i guess enough people have already told you,but it just works wonders.
love the two "claypics" aswell, they look like taken right out of some animated show (f.ex.foster's fantasy friends house or what it's called?). could it be that your coworker is allergic to something?
and funny lil doodles, the poo angel is still the best.

Well I already said I love the paper cut Valentine in your FF thread, but I'll say it again: I LOOOOOOOVE it!!! The expression is so awesome. And your self portraits are so fresh and fun, I really like your flowy lines Steph!!!

As for the vectors+brushy strokes tutorial you asked me, there's a couple of videos with that purpose in my sb! It's in the post with the Gods at War piccie

I must say the only thing I don't like that much about this SB is that... you should update it more often!!!! I wanna see MORE Steph awesomeness!!!

    Hey Steph !

I love those little self-portraits you are doing. The hair w/ the cap captures you perfectly.

And those little clay versions of yourself & Vear are hilarious to me!

hey steph, great update! must say I love these little self portraits you have; such a nice style and look to em. seems like they'd fit well for a comic strip or an animated short or something. same sort of thing goes for the Love Stinks piece you've got (which is wonderful by the way ). the faux-paper look works wonders, such nice textures all around. and lastly the kitten sketch is really nice! great line quality and form.

either way I hope things are going well, and keep up the great work!

    Great stuff Steph!
    I love the aquatic pugs.
Your self portraits are cute and the Valentine card is awesome.
The digital paper stuff really works well with your style. I can totally see you illustrating a children's book.

I'm really sorry that I can't respond to each reply individually this time, but a resounding "thank you" to everyone who has offered kind words, encouragement and crits. It's you guys that keep me coming back to post ^_~

Another small update - please believe me when I say I am updating as fast as life will allow me. It's hard to create personal work when you gotta pay rent X_x

So, the one in the shower is a little joke referring to a time when I was nearly forced to use the showers in the company gym. The sepia doodles are from my flight back to the US from London, the Mozart-ish guy has been explained before, and the teal-headed pair are from a certain SNES RPG that stole my heart. A cookie to the person who correctly names the game, 2 cookies to the person who correctly names the characters

They were meant to be one-shot style exercises for me, but I'm toying with the idea of putting them in a setting, as seen by the oval-shaped image. I might texture them too.

Thank you for looking, guys Steph's Brain Farts (NSFW): 11/17 - Creatures and CTN

holy this dude's nose runs from his right temple to the middle of his upper lip without going across his face - magic! Lovely little piece, as are all the rest - you have a very distinctive style and a wonderful, sort of open minded, approach to image making. I really enjoyed looking through all of this.

Lovely thread, have no idea why you have only 4* but have 5 from me.
EDIT: Alright, who dropped the one star one this thread? Who's got the big diaper?
    cheers!

SCHALA AND JANUS! ACK, THAT IS SO COOL! I would love a bigger version of the one with Alfador and Lavos to use as my desktop.

Hope you had fun on your trip! The continent missed you!

    Thanks or the responses guys.

Brendan: Hah, yeah, it's the magic of creative license I'm glad you're liking what you see here.

Wombat: That was quick! Either I made it obvious or you're just a huge game dork

Tex: See today's post. Thank you for always lookin' out for me

Bhanu: What, the tits in the shower and on the cupid aren't good enough for ya? Thanks for the comment

Chaos: There's a fairy tale about leeches and cuttlefish in the shower??? Can you direct me to this tale of amazingness?!

0kelvin: Wombat beat you to the punch, but since you replied with such "Zeal" (ooooh!!!) I will send you a larger file as soon as I can

So, this update if for my Grandma. She passed away on Friday after a very long struggle with Alzheimer's and an eating disorder. I loved her dearly and was very lucky to have had her as long as I have in my life, in good health and in poor. The baby is a doll that she nurtured for a couple years while she was in the nursing home - she regressed to become a child again but was always smiling and loving until her very last days. I know the image is morbid, but understand that this is how I remember her most recently, something that will last in my mind but won't cloud away the happiest and far more numerous memories of her when she was well.

A mind is a horrible, horrible thing to lose.
