Medieval Sea Monster Redraw: Renaissance and medieval maps and manuscripts often populated their oceans with fantastical creatures. The challenge is simply to redraw the sea beasts in a modern style and/or a modern interpretation of such a beast. This article in Wired Magazine collates some images from the manuscripts http://www.wired.com/2013/10/here-be-sea-monsters/

    Genetically engineered racing hounds.
In the not too distant future the new fashionable pastime for the insanely rich is neo-greyhound racing! - Due to advanced technologies each racing team has behind it a small army of geneticists and biologists to build the perfect racing creature (a little like present day formula 1), spicing and genetically engineering to the point where "hound" doesn't really apply any more, although the name is kept as a catch all term.
They are not just for racing though, rich team patrons often take their latest racer for walks as the ultimate fashion statement, so it's not only for speed, but has a sleek, fashionable design to the owner's personal tastes. Think of it like a custom designed organic Ferrari.

    Cthulhu Star-spawn

The star-spawn of Cthulhu (or Cthulhi) are beings who arrived on Earth with Cthulhu. They resemble Cthulhu and may be his progenies. Like Cthulhu, they can mutate their shapes, but always retain their master's distinctive outline.

I can imagine some strange and interesting creatures coming out of this.

How about designing a creature from "fantastic beasts and where to find them"?

The topic for one of the coming 3 weeks could be to take part of #junicorn with a creature of the week twist.
