It's really evident that you want to progress in your drawing, keep it up!

Thanks, Odds and FrozenValley for the engouragement! Actually Odds I do like metal, but Death in that quote refers to the reaper himself. Its taken from a Discworld book.

Crappy poses, but a bit better I think. Still very messy.

    Rendering exercise. All different pens/pencils.

    Studying Kevin Chens demos.

Feels good to study the basics cause I never did really. Answers a lot of questions.

I especially like your perspective sketches (love to see some more of those...)
try giving your drawings more depth using darker values
practice shading not only on simple geometric objects, but do life studies of vegetables, fruits, clothes - what ever you can imagine, it helps learning to see and give appropriate shading.
Tip: narrow your eyes to see only the dark an light spaces in front of you - that's what you need to draw!

Thanks for writing Imageproof! And thanks for the advice too, I will try to do as you say. Right now Im useing pen though so I can vary the values that much (except for with crosshatching). I will make more perspective studies later. The are fun to do.

Lots of studies. I figured, lots of studies = lots of material to crit = lots of crits.

It feels a bit akward to bring this old thread to life, but I had some new stuff to show u.

    Morbid's sketchbook

Back of my house fom memory, forgot the windows.
    Morbid's sketchbook

    Head doodles.

As you can see in the last pic the heads get all skeved when i try to construct them with the ball and plane. This is something I must practice.

    All critique appreciated!

Hey, don't know why haven't posted in your sb before. Better late then never
Nice sketches. I can see that you're working hard on the shape and form of the head. Keep at it.

    Hugs!

    Thanks guys!!
Im trying to make a creatur for the COW, "firework spewer".

Its a creatur that extracts sulphur and makes fireworks, shooting them off from a hole in his head, to attract a female. To get the sulphur and other neccesary minerals it grinds and then digests rock with its teeth.

Excellent studies, very indepth. Those head/face studies are really going to pay off.
