I opened up Painter today, for so long I hated that stupid program.
I was wondering why the hell people love that shit so much!!
But today I opened it up and and started doodling with the oil brushes and i couldn't stop!!!!!!

So here is what I did today, photo referenced of course
    ~ 2 1/2 hours

hihihi thus is strange O_o i just had yu in ma mind yesterday before sleeping time because havnt seen u for a while and now.. thadaa updates´coming .. nice 2 see ya again

that painter thing is awesome O_o

    whos that guy ?

a friend of mine *sebastian* looks similar ,,
but i dont like males with lips like these but the distinctive face is just c00l

    keep up !

as i always suggest : do small and tons of volume studies these help to do such portraits stuff in.. no time just because ur head understands what it sees who the image is created and how to get the illusion created
i can help u with this if u like

thers also a nice way to understand dynamic...defining form shape etc bla bla

Nice stuff you have here...I'm really liking your digital stuff, just seems alot stronger then your pencils...The studies you're doing are great, but make sure you understand whats going on and try to draw a totally original picture and apply what you've learned...

    keep at it

Ah man, it's been such a long time and i apologize for that
Lately I haven't been too motivated to draw or to scan any of the drawings i'v done before, but since I am close to the finish of my sketchbook i just feel like drawing again. So here are some of the little things i'Ve done since April 19th (!?!?!?!)
(Oh and I'm still not too good with my scanner settings...)

    bleh!

    hand studies

    meh

i wanted to do a painting of that sketch but the composition is just bleh

    self-portrait?

    my puter

    some paper study

    used photo ref...

    photo ref again....

That's it for now, comments on where I suck are always appreciated

Hello, good to see you posting again. I dig the hand studies a lot. Eyes on you SP look a bit off. I like the guy with a cig also - you could just finish it, fill the backround with dark. Shading on his face is sweet - nice and smooth

Also - what's this painting for, I was just curious what's the story behind this one, since i spotted Polish eagle emblem on the throne(?).

thirdeye - thanks for stopping by again! Nah man i don't feel like finishing the guy hehe (lazy). As for the story behind the painting, it was supposed to be a gift for a polish friend, his portrait actualy. But he never got to see it hehe
    Thanks again!

    Hey,

Had to visit your sketchbook since you were nice enough to drop by mine. I like the stuff you have going on here, it seems that you are learning a lot of new things. It's nice to see people improve in these sketchbooks. Love the dog sketches.

Are you taking any life drawing classes? If not, consider them. I've been taking them for the last couple of months. A lot can be learned.

I guess I might see you at the montreal CA workshop.

Keep up the good work... nice to see some locals on here.

This doesn't look too bad, the studies seem to pay off and you have some nice volume in your drawing. Your drawings are very tight, you might want to loosen them up sometimes, but it's not generally a bad thing I think.
Sometimes it's easy to lose track of where you are when you are studying, so you might feel like you aren't progressing, but it looks like you are doing well.

    Hi! long time no see!

I thought i would scan in some of my doodles since it's been so long.

Some of these sketches are for different projects for school (like the facial expressions are for my animation class). The woman with the dog is for another project an the thumbs with the different cities also.

critiques and comments are strongly encouraged!

Like your handstudies there. and the dog!

The thumbnails in the last update works good as well. Wish you'd work more on the painting with the throne, but I know how it is to go tired of a piece, heh.

Hey Sork, thanks for dropping by i will definetely focus more on doing studies from now on. And that throne painting.... I just can't stand to look at it anymore

I felt like drawing some quick studies before going to bed... I wish i could attend life models regularly but for now I have to settle for pictures

i took references from this site http://www.characterdesigns.com/

under "photosets" you can find some pretty decent references for action poses

thses are no more than 10 min each

Hey! I know it's been a while but I will post more often from now on.
    Critiques are always very welcome

Here are landscape sketches that I did for practice. I tried to get all the colors and mood right while looking at a picture.

This is a color study from the movie "La citee des enfants perdus". That movie is amazing for it's use of colors and its mood.
