These arent new drawings, they`re sketches that managed to survive the trash heap ova the years, done during my fling at animation school back in mid 1998 to early 2000 in which i learnt absolutely nothing other than how to play hacky sack and that student loans are very very bad.

Done this in `98 during my first year at animation school,i had a major crush on Joe mad then.heh!,no copying all out of my head..I was a pimple faced 18 yr old then, ahhhhh, tha memories...
    -=Rusty Vol 2=- Update (July 2010)

modelsheet for an original character during my third year, early 2000.I left for my first animation gig halfway through the year, sucks, i wanted to animate this guy,had it storyboarded and all.
    -=Rusty Vol 2=- Update (July 2010)

sum random sketches that i did during those years, jazzed up a bit in photoshop.Im sure theres plenty more lying around here somewhere..
As you can see i pretty much avoided realistic stuff cause it mostly turned out shit....

whoy! @ the Joe MAD! piece, I Love his work, and started collecting his battlechasers, shame the serie didn't lasted very long (atleast I think its dead), got I think 5 issue's and I loved his sketches in the back.

Never knew you did animation! you got something animated up for show?

I want to do a very short 2d animation (with no experience) for my "personal development" classes (I could pick something and I have 6 weeks to get it from concept to completion) So obviously I picked something very hard (2d animation)

And I have no idea what programs to use or how to start, damn me!

anyway m8, nice update, glad to see your smoking hasnt killed yah. Keep on coming with that art running down your leggs bro!

    CHEERS!

do you still do any toon-ish work now? why arent you animating you have a lot of skills there .your character designs just ooze motion/volume!!! it sucks you don't or at least show more of your toon-ish work! thats what i love the MOOSSTT!!!.. your realistic stuff looks nice too by the way..*

um for your character design (model sheet) it has John K's style all over that...? did you get any influence from him at all? and by the way what were your major influence when it came to the more cartoony style...?

i think everyone had a little if not a big crush on joe mad at some point

Seeing the stuff you made at 18 makes me love and hate you at the same time.

I love looking at your stuff. Always makes me want to draw.

what am I saying I wish I had thouse skills now he he
The last ones with the dark dramatic light are my faves,
IMO they have the rigth amount of style mixed wiht
very realistinc lighting efects, just plain WoW.

dude I hate how you say that you've been lazy when you post like 8 killer speed paints of awesome characters with crazy dramatic lighting

The ol' trip down memory lane is a painful one for arteests (at least for me it is) but i'm glad you had the courage to do it. The courage to show us all you knew what you were doing the whole time When ever I look at my old work it brings a tear to my eye and a vomitus sensation to my trachea - now i gotta post some of mine... in 1990 all i drew were ninja turtles - and the flat kind too non of this "bent arms" nonsense.

i dunno with you E should go with the celebrity profile, or maybe some wild on Auckland.

    much luv m8,

Shame on the rest of us for ever picking up a pencil. I'm so envious as always. You're my hero.
