    Jungle Environment sketch

Hi everyone. i was inspired to do a picture of trees the other day. this is the result of about 4 hours worth of sketching. C&C is most welcome.

    the initial sketch

where I am on the coloring. i really don't like that clump of moss near the middle. Planning on reworking that.

    thanks for looking.

I like the "clump" it breaks up the tree and give it a sense of solidity. I can't wait to see it farther down the road.

this is impressive! your trees look very natural and i love the way you did the bark, makes me realize i should observe nature more closely.

the coloring really sets the mood of being deep in the jungle in the evening (i think) that pink light really catches my eye, its simple yet very effective. if you keep up with that lighting, im going to love this!

im curious about how you finish it... will wait and see.

(i might have to use your finished piece as my desktop image, i really love it so much!)

Cool sketch! I really like the way you draw trees, they feel very dynamic.

well here's an updated version with inks. my art teacher felt that this would be a, and i quote, "a nutz ink job". so here it is inked, sorta. i would really appreciate some comments on how to go about inking the dark background and the tree silhouettes, as i haven't done many full on ink pieces like this one.

    thanks for looking.
