New here ! First Post, please comment (*update*)

Hi all, this is my first post, comments and crits welcome

These were my first drawings I did on pc lol

Drawn in ink, scanned and colored with mouse (couple of years old, I was 15 or so I think)

Same method as before, 2nd pic I did on pc ...

Still same method (ink, scanned, mouse). This is a cartoon of my Mathematics teacher that I spread around at school.

Weird little dude, all did digitally, finally with a tablet (about time )

I know the heads are too large and stuff, I realise that now, but hej, I never did any artschool of any kind, just figured it all out by myself and I'm quite happy with it so ... well, at least I enjoy drawing and that's the most important

    Cheers !

That's the main thing to have fun!
Nice caricatures, really funny, as for the heads they are exactly
such that have to be on the caricatures.

I've found a couple of more pieces on my (verry messy) hard-drive

This is my very first pic I did with my Wacom Tablet, just to test it

Around the same period as the Santa-dude as you can see. Did this to surpise a friend of mine, yea, all girls love Orlando Bloom, don't ask me why, they're crazy ... (It's the Orlando from the LOTR in the pic, if he is somewhat recognisable ). I wrote a poem beneath it, but that's meant for your eyes to see so ..

Just did this one for fun, no ref used (always wanted to say that ) , just from a sketch I did in a boring French class.

And this is me on a sled (or how do you spell it). Later on I added "I love you" in Dutch in giant screaming letters, a little something for my girlfriend

Let me hear what you think, crits are welcome!

    Greetz

    I like most of them!

I especially liked the colouring on that weird little guy (even if I wasn't too keen on the linework in that one...) and the overall mood and funness from the first batch.
That Orlando Bloom one was pretty good actually, I thought it was him before I read it was him..

The skintones are better in the sketch from french class than the others btw. Try to get some blue and red in there...

I don't know what else... Good job...

    Amateur and loving it!

Okey, my thread had been a bit 'dead', my pics aren't that great I know ... But nevertheless I made a new pic, and I believe this is the best I have done so far, colorly-wise.

I made this pic especially to work on my colortechniques, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Please give me some crits of what I can do better (more contrast,... u know, the usual ) !

(I know his right hand is a little off, but I still have problems with drawing hands)

Took me about 4 hours, done entirely with tablet (no pencil sketch)

Greets, and thanks in advance for replying ! CA rocks

    I can see it now!

It's definitely a better coloring job than the previous ones!
I don't know what to crit, it looks nice...
I guess maybe work on the anatomy (the hand aint too pretty ), and look up on some color theory.
I go by "cool colours get warmer shadows, and warm colours get cooler shadows", which seems to work better than just doing it on feeling...

I'm by no means more than an amateur, but maybe you should check it out...
Oh, and contrast might be more increased as well... (hehe, like always, it's like that for me atleast!)

    Good luck mate!

Thanks for the reply Fowley, I will keep checking your work

As for the anatomy, yea i know, I have troubles with drawing hands... I should modify it, but as I am an amateur, once I "finish" a piece, It's finished for me if you know what I mean ... but I'll try to do It for real this time, because I really like the drawing.

And yea the contrast , need to push it to the edge, but I'm always afraid that I will mess things up . Still learning

Thanks again for the comments, It's interesting what you said about 'warm colors get cooler shadows and vice versa', I think I'm gonna experiment with it

    Greets !

Hehe lol, my imagination is just too strong I guess. But I know what you mean, I'm planning to follow classes when I go off to the university next year, because I want to learn some anatomy and realistic sketching and stuff ... , I sometimes try it at home, but not really with much succes so that's why I keep drawing crazy stuff I think.

But thanks for the comment Fence, really appreciate it !

Don't know exactly anymore, just bumped into it by accident... I think is was meant as a display-pic for MSN Messenger (hotmail), but I reduced the size to fit as an avatar
