    my new stuffs

I have a question about my digi-painting. The way I do it is lay down base colors, then darks, then highlights, then fix up. There seems like there is a way to get it even more polished-looking, but i cant tell what. is it anything in particular or should i just keep practicing? all comments appreciated THANKYOU!!

when i do digital painting i use a tablet. (got mine super cheap from Aiptek) painting w/ a mouse is akin to trying to paint w/ a rock. except harder.

second i work in multiple layers in photoshop. most of my layers i build up w/ my brushes at 30% opacity and those layers set up as either multiply or lighten modes.

personally, i always do a rough graphite drawing first, then scan that in and paint on top of it, but a lot of artists also go all digital from sketch to finish.

Oh yeah i forgot i do it just like you said. I work with multiplay layers building on top one another. And I also scan in a pencil sketch first. Thanks for your insight, however. I just bought a 6x8 Intuos3 off ebay (I am worried it will be too small) a couple days ago, actually.

I'm using a Wacom Graphire 3, and that only has an A6 big active area, but it works fine for me! (Please note that I'm a happy amateur... )

I don't scan sketches or anything, I always go all digital...

    As for smoothness/polish:
I think you should try to keep sharp edges, to look less messy, and otherwise just spend time to smooth out transitions between colours, I guess..

Good job, the first and third are my favorites!
