    newbie questions..

    hi all,

i am new to this.. i never did drawing . i have just started it from six month. i am not good at it , but i am improving. i have few questions..

i never wanted to be painter . so i am doing it because i feel that it is very useful to be 3d animatator.

    so here is my question..

i draw many line while drawing. is it bad thing??? should i try to draw in one line only??? or i can creat many lines while drawing??

    thank you.

I draw many lines while sketching, I see that it is ok, just keep them very very light, then you can erase them and darken the one's you are going to use in the finished work.

It's better to live on your feet than to die on your knees.

    good questoin

I would recomend doing alot of life drawing - still lifes, pictures ect...- also it helps to draw holding the pencil in your palm with your knuckles draging over the paper. And yes keep your lines light, as my mentor says (other than stick with design) is " don't abuse the tool" in other words don't push down on the lead just let the pencils gravity push on the paper, if you do it right and keep your pencil sharp you souldn't have to push down at all. Also think in form, consider your proportions and tonal patterns. And in terms of line - vary your line wieght. one line thickness is the most boring thing in art. Keep practicing and improving and post your work, good luck
