    Clocktower's Sketchworks Now with Monsters!!!

Hey everyone. Been away for awhile, but I just got an Intuos 3 and I decided to start a sketchbook to help me keep up with learning how to use this confounded machine. It's a little hairy so far, but I'm starting to get the feel for it. I also got a hold of Painter IX, so i'm learning how to use that as well.

Enjoy. and as always, thank you in advance for the criticisms and suggestions.

I like that face. Very stylized and clean and very readable. Very good. Haven't seen enough to give a coherent critique so keep em up.

more fiddling around with the tablet

    here's another quick one.

still trying to get the feel of the tablet. I'll try to post something more finished soon so you will have something more substantial to crtique.

thanks again for the kind words.

Well, I hate broccoli... I do... a lot.

BUT that's a great first shot at coloring! The faces are looking better too. Keep on keepin' on, man. I think you should get that face you keep workin on and color it next, but that's me.

    Keep it up!

Stop teasing me with the toned background and color something!! Well anything else but broccoli. Great work. I really like how you draw those heads. The wolf head is my favorite. Don't have any crits, only to encourage some full body shots.

Nice work, I want to see more.

Ok, I'm done posting... Back to drawin'!

Thanks for the replies. I'm working up the confidence to do some color and full body stuff. When I'm not feeling confident drawing, i tend to resort to disembodied heads. I'll try to get some full body stuff and some color going this weekend.

This is good stuff, Clocktower! I don't have much in the way of crit, just some suggestions. It seems to me that you're getting a pretty solid command of a certain style of figure; I'd recommend trying to draw more full figures deeper in space and with more complex posing to reinforce that knowledge. It might also help to take a break from the figure from time to time and explore other subject matter; I'm no expert, but it should keep you fresh and inventive from page to page.
