little update. Sorry guys but i have like access to a scanner like every 3 weeks. and i can only scan a few at a time so sorry for the wait.

Nike: thanks very much Nike. Ya the forehead i just gave up on shading it. And the eyes don't match at all, weird how i kind of still got the emotion right kind of... not really but they totally do not match.

Demeter_Luna: Thanks so much. Love your work.

malicious: Thanks for the asspat mal. It was getting cold.

Bluemech: Thanks Blue. If you find any more crits tell me man i need em. I'm tryin to form the habit of critiquing my own work. Helps out a bunch i think.

little updaters. I just gave up on the face and wings. Might work on it later.

It's about time you actually did something!

Lookin' good Daunt just remember the anatomy/proportion stuff. This isn't lookin' too accurate to me. I'm gonna say what everyone else tells me, MORE STUDIES! And do some stuff from life too. I hope you have permanent access to a scanner now! It's good to see the progression you do have going on. Keep it up. You're gonna rock in no time.

The face looks kinda flat, like it's just on his face. Also i think with the perspective youre using, his whole face needs to be pushed up a little further from his chin.
Otherwise, I like it. You gunna add colour?

Zebz: Yo man. I know I need to do so many more studies. Lot's of times I don't have the time to do that many life drawings of people cuase they pose for a good 30 seconds at tops and the I'm only on the computer for so long. But that is no excuse. I NEED TO DO MORE STUDIES. /me tattoos it on his chest.

Yo Blue: Ya I didn't like the face the first minute I did it so I gave up on it. I might go back on it and refine the face a bit. the whole structure is wrong like you said. I don't know if I'm going to add color to that. I might... well i really should I'll try to keep ya updated.

Hey, I really like your selfportrait!

And the floating body will be fine. Just work a little on the jaw line and the nose seen from underneath.
Love that upper body and the trousers.

heyaa, dang I see A LOT of progress, the leopard on top of this page is awesome, the little golfer is funny and your "Little nude im taking WAY too long on" is stunning. I totally love the light & shadow on and between her legs, beautiful rendering. want to see the finished piece!

to crit-a-bit, [if I'm worthy of criticizing you..] - some of your figures look too bulky, especially the arms. ( like on the latest two: here and here ) even though these ladies are warriors (warrioresses? hum ), their arms look unnatural to me. the muscles are too "round" which makes them look a bit like swellings. to me, at least, and I donk know much about anatomy .

    keep it up!

    Just a crit...
I am having a problem with the lolly pop stick. it looks flat. If you make a shadow come out under it then it might make it stick out more...

I got the impression you are done with this piece for now but should you go back to working on it...

Nice progress you've got going, though I think that if you used more hard edges, and smoother gradients in your shading, it would make your work abit better.

Keep practicing, you're on a roll.

Wow HA I didnt expect to have any posts thanks guys.

dorian: Thanks a lot dude for the rendering. Always was a render freak. The bulk arms are a dead give away in the stuff I draw from my memory. Still probably have a male figure in my head, need to draw more girls that'll get that out of me. My lack of knowledge for female and pretty much anatomy period can explain the wavy arms. Thanks a ton I'll take what you've said about the arms into detailed consideration.

Majofo: nice meeting ya. Ya im pretty much done with that pic but it wouldnt take much touching it up here and there in some places. ill fix it.

Mike: Thanks a lot Mike, ya I might do a few more catts and furry animals like to render em.

incognito: Hey ya Ive never really paied much attention to the gradients. Takes time showing a good shift in value and my mind just blocks it out ill pay closer attention to that.

Muffinman: Thanks man, thank wes looking at his stuff for a second will teach you a hundred things.

haha, nice stuff daunt. your women figure studies are probably the strongest things out of the whole thread... i'd say keep working on those faces, and exaggerate the eyelids a little more, so it doesn't look like the eyes are just slapped on top. you want them to look like they're actually inside the face... keep it up

Hehe, I see domai-studies in here You have great pencil-skills. Your last drawing is great, too what bothers me a bit about it, though is the absense of the colarbone. Perhaps you should have rendered it, too, like that, here upper limb looks somewhat flat.

Bout to try to finish this one for a nice little portfolio peices.

Hopefully I'll be able to update regularly now that I've passed my "OMG IM AN ARTIST IM ECCENTRIC" phase.

    what davi and mike said!

still daunt, very good stuff, very skillfully renderd pieces!
    congrats!

my only suggestion would be to try to venture inside your mind more, do some crasy stuff, play more... dont listen to me... just 2 cents anyways!

cheers man, keep on rocking, IMHO dont make the updates too far apart, for our sake and for yours!

Defiently some good pieces in here that'd be good for a portfolio, such as the coloured pic of the girl with the pink g string. post more
