    Dan1989's second sketchbook>>now with paint!<< (some nudity)

Some images have been removed for bandwidth reasons. Look at the bottom of this thread for newer sketches!

Well, I haven't posted in so long that my first sketchbook was deleted, so I decided to start a new one (I couldn't post because my computer was in the shop for 2 months nearly ) Anyways, here's some sketches I've done recently.

Hey man keep going! All you need is the dedication and you can succeed! When you're feeling uninspired just draw anything, whether it be something in your room or drawing from photo or anything. Just draw draw draw, in no time you'll be drawing like a pro, besides, the stuff I see here is already an indication you're well on your way!
    Cheers,
    Dave

Hey man those are really coming along...I just have to ask though, why on lined paper? It's not a horrible thing, but really distracts, even if they are sketches...keep it up though man! You're figures there look quite nice so keep going!

    Hey, Dan! Welcome back!

The first thing I noticed in this sketch is that the neck on the left figure is too long and that the right side of the rib cage seems to curve in a little to much. Not 100% on the rib cage, but it looks a little funny. The figure to the right looks excellent though.

    Good job, and welcome back!

    Ian

Hultgren animal studies(Yes, the horse and the dog on the bottom have strange proportions @_@)

Shape study of a loomis figure (Proportions may be wrong since I paid no attention to them )

    Sketches and *gasp* painting

Here are some loomis studies, I got really pissed off while doing them because I was having trouble with the proportions... maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist

And here is a WIP digital painting I'm doing in painter 8 (I'm using acrylics, and credit for the reference photo goes to ceiliog from wetcanvas.com)

    looks good so far

there are some easy tips on how to learn or how to understand foreshortening.. before u will be able to draw a foreshortened body.. u need some training.. i did that 2.. with drawing cubes * in my first 3 month of "drawing start " i only drew cubes.. because i had to understand this its good training*.. in our couch.. u have foreshortening too.. in ur chair too.. in evryline u draw.. there is foreshortening ... train ur eye to reveal the foreshortened truth

in my sketchbook is a Tutorial link .. ask me if u cant find it

u can also pm or request help in my sketchbook

    keep up ya stuff

*if u need other help or tips n stuff.ss just ask*

sideshowbob: Thanks for the advice! I will definitely take that into consideration.

I think what has been missing in my art as of late is spontaneity, so I decided to do some gestures of my arms and hands

Those hands look really good man and hands aren't easy to draw there fun once you get them though cuz they can really portray allot. I'm glad the lined paper is gone to your drawings deserve a nice white surface. Keep it up. I'll be back.

oh wow, i really like your animal studies a lot. they have all the gesture they need but they're all very brief, seems like you've done quite a bit of study of them..i also like your arms and hands, at the wrist connection, you're getting that point perfectly. cool stuff
