My girlfriend told me about this first. She said, a slipper brand used Andrew Jones's drawings on their packages. I just needed to see them. Then i took my camera and we went to the supermarket. Then i saw these:
man this is so funny! We laughed all the way back home! AHAHAH!
I don't know what to say Andrew. What do you think about this?
They use your drawings without permission but other than that, this is FUNNY! Slippers man! AHAHAH!
Anyway, just wanted to share this...
HA! Ha Ha....... HAHAHA!!!

That's when you know you're hot shit, people want your art on their feet
wtf does a portrait of a man (andrew) have to do with slippers?
that GENESIS text does not fit. Poor style choice
can you post the link to where you have found this?
what they have done is completely against the law. It is copyright infringment at the very least. The results of which means that it is time to speak to the lawyers.
please post links or any relevant information here in this thread.
what is the name on the company? What country is it based from? Is there any information on the package.
BTW...please bring some of those to the workshop. I must have a set!!! haha! I know andrew will want some too.
as funny as it is, copyright infringement is a serious matter.

Jason - I just took the photos. They were in a supermarket. The brand is "Genesis". I have no further information. But if you want to have a pair, i'm going to buy you one and to Andrew aswell. But they aren't quality stuff. Anyway, ofcourse this is against the laws. I'm going to check for the brand information. ahahah....this is yet so funny...
See you in the workshop guys...
Copyright infringement has always struck me as wierd. Like....not wierd as in the laws are bad...wierd as in sometimes you find your artwork representing the most curious stuff.
There are 3 sides to every story. Yours, mine and THE TRUTH.

Whoever designed that packaging should be shot. Gotta love the Suicidal Tendencies font, and they elegently topped the whole thing off with a big green plastic hook. And of course those images just seem to lack the pink fuzzy slippers look. You would hope that if someone was going to steal artwork, they would at least give it a thread of respect and make it look good on the package.
What store was this at? If it's a common chain, let us know so we can all keep an eye out for this fine footwear.
Manley if they are in Canada we'll take care of it
Well, at least they didn't call them degenesis, otherwise Marko and Wes would have to jump in too...
Hopefully they made some good money with these slippers! Andrew will be able to retire early! You could probably submit this thread to a million lawyers who would love to capitalize on this! The fact that the product is already in supermarkets means big $$$$$$$.

It occured to me that this might not necessarily be the fault of the company. It could be an artist misrepresenting Andrew's work as his own. I remember a while back an artist going around showing Dan Milligan's work as his own (amongst other artists). But still the company would at least be able to tell you if that was the case. Of course, if it's the compnay, that means bigger lawsuit money. Heh.
Where are my Android flip-flops?
Wow, Andrew is internationally known, too bad those saps are going to be bankrupt after the ordeal is over. Buy the slippers while you can it's going to be a collector's item pretty soon.

When I look at andrew's self portrait I instantly think of pink fuzzy slippers, puppies, and poofy clouds shaped like hearts... What in the world?

Andrew: sue them or at least steal their whole stock of slippers.
Does it matter? Wouldn't the company still be responsible for what their employees do?Originally Posted by SeraphSwordIt occured to me that this might not necessarily be the fault of the company. Maybe Android decided to start his own fashion line?
What. The fuck.
