I guess everyone who likes to draw caricatures likes to be caricaturized... you know, you want to see your face how it┤s being seeing by others.
There are infinits styles of caricatures...
Well my proposition is the follow:
Nowadays is not strange to own a Digital camera... well take 3 pics of you, profile, 3/4 and frontal and post it here... and everyone who feels like it will draw a caricature of you.
Ok,... here┤s my "modelSheet"
Hope to see many of yours "model sheets"!!!
I also hopes this thread gets sticky as it┤s a great practice and fun!
Good Luck and Have fun!!!

Jondan I gotta say man you really fucken nailed it! Like holy shit the likeness on that piece!
lol after looking at my sketch again, its not very exagerated at all lol. gonna have to exagerate alot more.
here ya go Jondan!
very poor scan, but did it at work so o well.
Rock, rock on!
I think you got jondon pretty well, but much like my first post it looks more like a portrait, not a carticture. only crit I have is that his nose is skinnier at the top.
and jeez man, you hate me or what? lol just kidding.
if you dont mind my crits I think that you understand the basic shape and structure of a face, its just a matter of practicing it more to get those details down. so when your out and about or looking at a picture really study why people look different. look at who the wrinkles sit, how the jaw line is placed, etc.
one good measurement I think your missing on for instance is the ears, ears most of the time will have the top be in line with the eye brow line, and the bottom of the ear will be in line with the upper lip.
one good thing for doing carictures is just grab a book on making them, I am by no means the greatest person at this, but you should have seen what I use to try and pass of as a caricture before I learned the basics of what is done.
Ill try and break it down for you in the mean time though. basically a cariticure is taking the most dominant features of the face/body/whatever you are studying and exagerating these parts.
so usually for instance I start off with head shape, some artists base head shapes off of things like pears, tear drops, blocks, etc. its more of a squash and stretch thing. for instance I see jondons face as being skiny and long and I play on that. then I look at the features of the face after that, do they have a bigger then normal forhead? nose? eyes? etc? but what you have to keep in mind when playing with these is that in order to keep it looking like the person you are drawing is you have to use comparable anatomy so that the basic propertion of that persons face stays intake or else they will not look like them selves.
that is the hardest part for me to get is the likeness keeping things comparable to each other but still exagerating the most dominant part.
hit up barnes and noble and grab a book on this, they will explain it much better then I can.
other then that, LETS GET SOME MORE PICS AND PIECES UP FOOLS!!!
i really like this idea I'll take part in it soon as i finish my current project.
first of all thanks ChromaticCodex and Noc for your caricatures...

HI I'm Mike (also from SC). You look like a friend who also looks kinda like David Spade; this is something I did of him; which you may be able to relate to.Originally Posted by ChromaticCodex

btw, Pagmatic, your also from SC? that's crazy, I though I was the only person in this state who isn't drawing gay wildlife stuff, or like, painting beaches w/ palmetto trees. That's encouraging
