    The first one is Storm (of course) the second the cover of the issue of January of F&SF Magazine (a bit low the definition, sorry):

    Your work is great! Though I understand the need to keep them small, would like to see an artbook with larger images.

    I always wonder when I see ships like this.... where do you get the reference material? I can never seem to find reference photos of pirate ships.

    Yes, Paper Tiger, the famous english publisher of science fiction and fantasy art books, will dedicate a volume to my work as illustrator. The title is : "REVELATIONS: THE ART OF MAX BERTOLINI", the release date is March 2005, it will be hardcover, 128 pages, and will contain a wide selection of my fantasy and sci-fi illustrations together with my comics artworks.

    For the ships I use scale models as reference.

    damn, that is pretty sweet. i would sure love to see more if you can post em!
    its a shame about the size though
