Anyone able to look at this for me?

Give it a good long stare and please share your thoughts. Tell me what you think. I will work on a better quality photo for those interested as current lighting is terrible.

*shrug* Doesn't do anything for me color wise or composition (or lack there of).
My commentary is a gift to you.

I can't tell if this is bait or not. It's kind of like logging into a 3d art website and posting 2d work. I'm offended tbh.

Onto the crit, this look uninspired. The colors don't work together and there is not enough variation.

At least hes not greentexting on a conceptart website

I agree though. This is a very muddy uninspired abstract painting.

Others have already mentioned that this probably isn't the best forum for this style of art, but I actually like abstract paintings. However this doesn't do anything for me. You have neutrals in the middle of the yellows which makes it look muddy rather than bring out the colors, there's only one type of yellow/green/blue/pink with no hue shift to any of them so the palette is already not very interesting, there's no play between the soft and hard shapes, they all kind of seem all over the place so your eyes just get trapped in random places, the scratches happen for no reason on one part of the painting, I honestly have no idea what you're trying to communicate. Maybe angst. Why don't you try explaining what you're trying to do with it?

Looks like it was fun to make. I'd finish that eye in the center though.

Thank you all for the replies. It was actually made by a semi-famous artist who happens to be both genius and currently suffering from the recent surfacing of Turrets and Bipolar. Thanks for the input. I like the forums and website you have here. Good luck with it!

Another one of those "famous unnamed genius" abstracts that is completely indistinguishable from an abstract done by a simi-unkown artist of modest intellectual capacity.

I can't tell if you expect us to feel sorry for them and judge their art less critically because of their mental issues that likely have no effect on their motor skills or if we're supposed to bend over and take it in the ass because of their staggering intellectual prowess and fame.

Neither of those options are particularly appealing. This is why people around here are so hostile when people post abstract art. This is like the third time this year that someone has done this.

None of that matters though because if it's not your art then there's zero reason to critique it.

I think mental illness can give something to your art, just like any other experience but it doesn't mean that you don't have to learn foundations + put work in to it.

Are you implying he can't be critiqued, only praised?

They're never coming back, they post, don't like what they hear, deflect massively either guilting or insulting us, then never return. Its clearly mounted on someone's bedroom wall as well lol. 'Semi famous'

I think getting critiqued never get easier at least for me but you have to get used to dealing with it Its funny if people give praises, it can give confidence boost nothing else, but constructive critic can hurt but it can be way more useful than praises

It's badly photographed. Art posted here has to be by the original artist, not a friend. Thread closed.
