    Characters feel... off

Whenever I do character art like this, it feels really flat and stiff. I've tried using perspective and more gestural sketches to fix this, but when I finish the drawing it feels... off.Any suggestions on how to fix this or any other issues you have with the drawings are appreciated.

Improve your understanding of light and shadow. Also before someone comes in to sell missinformation - 2 values are enough to create depth, if you do it right.

Keep trying the perspective and gestural stuff. It takes practice. Quite a bit actually.

Study more anatomy and structure, Proko is good source for it, also do life drawing (still lifes, portraits, figure drawing etc.)
