    The Queen WIP

I'm working on this piece here (inspired by a cool reference photo I saw where someone was wearing lovely blue highlighter). I feel like the piece is missing something. I can't decide what sort of background to use (the reference image didn't have one) and I want the blue to look like something iridescent. Hm! What should I do to make this really look like a polished piece?

Getting rid of the black outlines would help polish it up.

The surfaces of the cheek, temple, and the frontal bone around the eye needs more definition, they're a bit flat at the moment.
There'd probably be a bit of that cyanic light on the nostril and ear.
Can you share the ref images?

Here is the reference image (I wanted to change her facial proportions a little so it wasn't a direct copy, I also wanted to change her hands and remove the metal finger pieces) I agree, it all seems sort of flat and I need it to pop more for a portfolio study piece:

Hello! Their colors are good, they fit well with the reference. I understand you want to impose your style using this reference as a starting point, but even in your style you should pay attention to the anatomical structure of the face to make it more acceptable to the eyes of your viewers. There are some bones on the face that you did not put in evidence, I circled some for you to take a look, and note that in reference they actually exist. Perhaps by looking at some of these details it may boost your art too!

Any questions just ask what I try to answer! Cia.

Thank you so much! I'll start working on fixing those areas I was having a hard time painting the bones that are there (orbital, cheek). I'm going to continue trying to paint them the right way.
