Scene of Journey to the West

One of the four ancient classical fictions of China, Journey to the West tells the story of a Buddhist monk escorted by his three disciples who are demon-turned religious guys to the Old India for the holy bible of Buddhism. The author describes in the story a total of 81 challenges the team faced, which are mostly posed by the spirits or genies along the way because they are convinced the flesh of the monk if cooked and taken can help the eater to achieve immortality. So there are many fightings taking place.

I draw the following in which the Monkey King, who is the No. 1 disciple of the monk, is taken during a struggle by a spirit who is in the form of a big bird. Unlike we ordinary people, such fightings of immortals are always in action in mid-air.

There is a lot I like about the style, but I believe this would be a lot more readable if you go for a clear silhouette...
