    Portrait colour study

Hi all, I'm new to portrait painting so I traced the outline of the face to use as a colour study. I've looked at the painting for so long now I can't tell if the colours work or not. What are the main things that need changing. Thanks

It looks fine to me but it is awkward to put a well developed face and hair against not more than a gesture towards capturing the basket. It would have made more sense to just insert a solid bucket shape IMHO.
