    proportion advice for self portrait

I'm trying to do a self portrait for my art portfolio. Still kinda struggling, even with the grid. I'm afraid i begin shading and end up realising it looks off half way through. Any advice on how i can make the sketch look as accurate as possible? thanks! Ref pic in link >

Although you may want to get more advice than mine, maybe try watching these vids and trying a couple of the techniques.

The trick is to stop seeing eyes and noses and mouths and faces, and just see the shapes that correspond to the square you're working on in the grid. Additionally, when you're taking pictures of your drawing, try to get the camera directly over the drawing so you don't end up with a weird skew effect. Most phones have a basic adjustment for this as well. This is especially important if you're trying to get a crit for a grid drawing :p. We're seeing parallelograms instead of squares here.

Slow down, just focus on the line and proportion. Drawing is abstraction
