How To Draw book by Scott Robertson

How should one work through the How to Draw book. As in, how many times should one repeat each exercise?

    I'm worried that I'm being a perfectionist.

Depends on whether or not you'll need the techniques. Are you aiming to be able to do all manner of constructions by hand? Then you'd better get everything down to a t, including how to mirror tilted&rotated planes and other fun stuff.

If, on the other hand, you're going to use 3D to solve complex issues such as this, there really is no need to know such advanced techniques by heart. It doesn't hurt one bit to have understood the theory behind them and to have completed the corresponding exercise, but you're probably not going to need it in real life production work.
