    Critique please!

Took sometime off to study since the last finished piece I posted here. Really wanted to work at getting a better 3d read. Name: Halloween.jpg

Lighting seems to be all over the place and not overly coherent.

I am not certain I like the pale pumpkins the back.

What ever that dress/tu-tu/mid-riff thing is really jacks up the anatomy of the torso and legs.

The right arm looks to attach at the mid-torso.. or that shoulder is super long compared the far one.
My commentary is a gift to you.

Those pale pumpkins do look really weird. Your major issue is not having a consistent light source, as Mod said. I'm definitely not digging the flat gradient on those branches in the background either. They'd even look a lot better in just a solid dark color.

i really like the drawing, but your values have no structure. google notan or value grouping. this is the backbone of your picture. dont ditch the drawing but go back to thumbs for your values.

also some color choices are kinda garish. having the skirt-orange-pieces have a similar hue and value as the pumpkins makes no sense. youre really making it hard for yourself here.
also the green.. maybe its just a personal thing but this smaragd greens make my eyes feel like bleeding.

id tone down the hues alot... its amazing what you can do with limited palettes, or even warm and cool greys. if its not about accents i hardly touch anything beyond 30% saturation.

    keep going

So I made another layer that was gray and reduced the opactiy of the render bringing it back towards more grayish. changed the local color of the dress and added some cool blue where the light hits because the original intention was blue light coming down from the moon, and warm light coming from the ground from a local candle source.Name: Halloween2.jpg
