    Drawing progress, next step is unclear

    After refining my proportions, working on the values but I get stuck at that point. How can I move this image forward? Please advise

    I would take a bit of a break from it and then go back and analyze your values again. His face and shoulder are especially off, as you've made them very bright, when they aren't in the original. How did you go about drawing this? Even though this looks like it's done digitally it might be worth approaching it as you would a charcoal drawing on toned paper. Start with establishing the shadow areas, do the light areas at a later state. Try not to draw with that mid-toned brown color at all, let the toned paper do it's job as the mid-tones in the piece. Use an eraser if you need to bring back some of the midtones that the "paper" naturally provides.

    You can't proceed because it's not clear enough, 1.use straight lines for laying in your drawing, and also for shadows, even if there is a soft edge, later you will soften it. and through the whole process of laying in squint, simplify everything, 2.then block in shadows with a mid value, then you can proceed. 3.after that you add the lighting information, but the most important part is the layin. take your time and triple check every mark you put there
