I love it! I'm terrible at landscapes, but I can make the suggestion that the background is too white, pulling it forward. Making it a much cooler tone will help it recede.

The airships are very whimsical, and there's an intriguing narrative sense in the image. Well done!

Hi MangoSalsa, Thank you for the kind words and helpful advice. You are right! Good Eye on making it a cooler tone to push it back. I'll tweak this one and get it posted back up here.

    Thank you again,

Hey, I think that the visual grammar has been executed quite well and the rendering is convincing. Because the airships are all the same size and make the fortress look really small, the sense of scale seems a bit warped. Additionally, the designs of the airships themselves to me indicate a not very specific design brief with the exception of the second from the left, which fits with the colour palette and indicated genre the most. The genre itself is a little unclear because there's a fantasy-like scene and then some super sci-fi looking ships, and sci-fi lights in the background, and the two seem to contradict eachother.

The colour palette is quite effective but maybe the values could have a clear foreground, midground and background read. It seems to go straight from background to foreground.

There could also be some more ships flying around in the far foreground and far background to further illustrate the scale, and the ships feel like they could be smaller. compositionally, because all the ships are all the same size they all have the same visual weight and are all competing with eachother simultaneously.

    Hope that helps! (#`Д´)

Thank you Zak, I see what you're talking about with the size of the fortress against the ships. My original sketch of this was just the airships and the landing area, and a direction of this scene being high up somewhere. Part of the story is that these pilots and crews are about to take off, or have just met here after traveling. It could almost be some type of truckstop place for these AirShips. Great catch on the foreground/background. I can pull out one of these rock pillars from the background and place it more mid.

    Thank you again,

Wow, huge improvement! Thank you for continuing to hone this piece, I'm glad my advice helped you

It really looks great. There are a couple of tiny tweaks you could make if you wish. The edge state of the rudder on the closest airship and the farthest edge of the island (the shapes of the trees and ground) are weakened by tones that are too close in hue and value. If you played around with those tones, the depth will really pop!

Well awesome..thank you! I definitely appreciate the advice.
Good Tweak! I see what you are seeing with the tones being too close in hue and value on those sides. Here is an update while tweaking those tones on the edges of the rudder. I'm now working on the left island side, and can see where it helps it to jump out more. It is a floating ship after all. Ha!
