    Scissors

    Hello,
I'd like to get some feedback on this drawing from academic point of view (light-shadow, perspective, etc.). Thanks in advance.
    P.S. This is the image I used: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/y~UAA...Nt/s-l1600.jpgName: scv_1534533507080885239310.jpg

Your first problem is from an academic point of view. You're referencing a photograph of scissors instead of actual scissors.

Well, it looks pretty good. My concern is with how you are starting such an image and going about the drawing process. What are your goals? What do you want your art to look like eventually? Without knowing these things, it's hard to give meaningful critique.

I think I want to be very good at hatching. To the point when drawing looks like monochrome photo. Also would want to understand how light and shadow works and be able to draw things without model, just by my own imagination. I figured I need to understand rules of academical drawing first. Otherwise proportions, light, shadow, etc. would look a bit off.
