    Do you know about constructive anatomy? If you don't, look it up. Proko on youtube is a good introduction to constructive anatomy. Do a mix of constructive and observational studies pertaining to anatomy. You can still use other anime artists as reference to how to stylize, but you also need to be looking at the real thing, or you won't be able to stylize or invent with purpose.
