Nice study! the proportions look very accurate and very crisp writing on that container too, I might add. I never bother with anything more than a squiggly indication haha. I think though that maybe that candle's value would be the highest contrast and most saturated part of the picture, since it's a primary light source. When I first looked at it it didn't immediately read as a flame. I also feel that the picture is oddly devoid of colour. There would probably be some colour in those shadows! although i cant really make a fair judgement without the original scene, so its just an estimation! そして、とても本当ジャガイモですね!実際よくできたよ, nice indication of texture where the light terminates at the end of the potato

Was doing this illust for a competition, but it turns out the theme was incorrect... (´;ω;`)ウッ…
Need to do another illust all over again... I liked the hand though, also need to do more studies on everything, especially color, full body, and shiny things--since I suck at it the most.

Ayyyy, I seen the most recent one on the discord. I quite like it. The eyes look a bit too painted on anime, but overall it's quite nice. You just gotta add more depth and illusion of 3D to her face.

@Ajams: Thank you! I'll try to fix it... Σ( ̄□ ̄;)!! I will put in more values ☺。 I'm always afraid to put in darker values, I'll need to fix that habit.
Maybe I'll put in more saturated, bright colors.

Nice sketchbook here! I think if you want to see more improvement in for instance your faces you need to study more specifically. If you're drawing 30 faces from imagination in your sketchbook, you could do that for years and still not be that good at drawing faces, because unless you're actively thinking and researching you wont learn much. For instance the animation of the skull you did probably helped a lot in improving your faces, because you were studying the actual structure and planes. That kind of studying is really invaluable for improvement, of course drawing in your sketchbook is also good, but if you only do that you might feel like improvement is slow. It's also good to stick with one thing for a while, you jump from faces to color to anatomy quite rapidly, it's better to study one or two things at least for a few weeks so you can really dive into it and learn. The type of studies from post 36 are really nice, you can clearly see that you're thinking about things and asking questions, which is exactly what you want to be doing. So keep going but try and do some more active studying!

@Dennis van Kessel: I admit haven't done any anatomy studies lately, nor face studies. I will try to do more active studying.☺ Thank you for the advice and the push. THANKYOUd_(>o<)!!

@edgarej: muhaha, it's a secret, I'm just kidding. It's really not a new approach, but to me it is. First, I've never used textures in my paintings; I just used a simple brush, a blender, and the end product was bland. Also, I've never committed to a finished product like this... It kind of changed my habits, sort of...

awesome stuff! I think with that last env piece you flattened it out quite a lot because there's the same level of contrast on the foreground, midground and background etc, I think you could make it work if you use the lasso tool or something to go to each of those areas and decrease/increase the contrast of the values based on how close or far away that section is! also i think that from the start the landscape of the far background is too similar to the value of the building in the midground

    頑張り続く!
