    Andrew loomis drawing process

I'm studying drawing the head and hand, these tonal drawing by Loomis are really gorgeous, but he doesn't explain his process of drawing an actual head, I know how he constructs, but how he handles the pencil, his strokes, how he holds the graphite pencil?, and he doesn't talk about these things, I wish I had a process shot of him drawing, I tried copying his drawings but I didn't get that effects,.

Study http://www.proko.com, which is partly based on Loomis, but which goes into the very basics.

Thank you, but I have studied a lot from Proko, I have his Portrait DVD, he uses charcoal, but he doesn't explain graphite, I like how Loomis uses broad strokes to define form, I always get muddy with graphite
his technique is just beautiful, I'm wondering how he gets this effects with graphite

I don't think there are any secrets, other than clean modelling, and hatching along the form. Loomis is just extremely skilled in this, which means he practised a lot.
