    Paint like Van Gogh

Urban folk art. I know the drawing is not perfect. Sort of like this. Being ambitious with composition.

If you want to be ambitious with your composition, I would do something besides center a portrait against a busy background all the time. For a while you were doing environments which was pushing your boundaries, what happened to that?

Google Van Gogh early paintings. Its not 100s of nearly identical portraits. The skill level varies so much with your recent pieces as well, this one really isn't very good. Thank god you put 777 on it though.

Moderately better than the previous, but as folk mentioned more of the same.

The eyes look weird, but you are blending better with different sized brushes..

I am not sure what's up with the sausage link neck, but ok..

The flat black chunk of bill seems like a cop-out/cover up of the rest of the hat/head.

There's probably some thing nifty to be said about the blood over the pines and a black bird on the shoulder, but I am not certain.

Maybe this is SLC in some odd fashion.. *shrug*

    Over all - better.
My commentary is a gift to you.

Nope. If you’re going to post every single painting you do, at least show us you’re making an effort to improve or try something new. Otherwise it’s a waste of everyone’s time since you’re just looking for praise

My art has certain memes but I am one of the most improved artists on the site. You are doing me a great disservice by implying I haven’t improved♂️

To me, this looks a lot more like a Ludwig Meidner than a van Gogh. There would be a churning or roiling pattern in the brush strokes, particularly on the trees, if this was a van Gogh. There's a good chance he would have painted an astigmatism halo around the sun as well.

It seems like you want to be an artist hailed by all as being in league with immortalized artists like Van Gogh, but are having trouble with the reality of not being so.

    I can respect that.

The problem is not so much he wants to play in Van Gogh's league, he wants to be Van Gogh.
Unfortunately, that spot is already taken.

just out of curiosity do you want to work as a full time artist the rest of your life or is this just a side hobby thing?

The kid will live in poverty, cut off his ear, commit suicide. And then he will be famous, but he will not bother us anymore.

I don’t want to be Van Gogh. Honestly I think I am better.

Theres an old 4chan art thread with him saying the same things 4 years ago. I honestly don't think its trolling. At least do some emulations of his early landscapes again.

I like the head and the background. The red blob and feeble trees diminish it. You're not van Gogh, don't try to be, just be you and keep striving to improve. You're not there yet.

I'm going to merge as many threads of yours as I can, so you can see your progress.

How do you know I am not there yet but you don’t know my goals? Kinda how people perceived Van Gogh?
