    Oddworld Fan Art

Hey guys, could anyone provide me with some feedback and criticism regarding this incomplete piece? I want to push it further to completion, and would like to know how I can improve upon it more. I wanted to do a portrait of Abe from Oddworld. I wanted to use a few light sources here, the main being the soft white light coming from the top right, and the subordinate lighting from the red mines/ scanning laser lights. I feel like using some atmosphere like fog would help create more interest. I feel like there is not much texture on Abe's skin, and I don't know how to do this successfully. Also, something about the edges is bothering me. I think that the irides (plural of iris, had to look it up) need to be darkened where the shadow of the brow falls... Feedback is much appreciated, I am struggling with this one.

    Everything is way blurry.

I am not getting the right shoulder/bumps/etc.
My commentary is a gift to you.

looks nice but it would look much better if you had some hard edges in there, if to planes with different values overlap, they create a hard edge, you only have soft ones. for example between the brow bone and the forehead and between browbone and eyeball.

Thanks, modi123. I need to work some better edges in, I didn't compensate for the increase in resolution.

Thanks, Shozi. I appreciate your wording, it really helps me visualize where these planes should exist.
