    rough sketches or complete drawings

I have discovered that although I like very very much my complete drawings, I like more incomplete drawings where it is almost complete except for a part where you can see the outline or even sometimes a rough sketch. I think may have something to do with the feel of a "sketchy" look.

So I want to know if someone else thinks the same or if you have other preferences.

Do you like more or prefer, complete drawings or incomplete drawings or only rough sketches?

i like the incomplete sketches because they're interesting. its also where most of your decisions lies. as the drawing progresses it can loose its charm and spontaneity, i feel. that isn't to say i wouldn't want to complete some drawings. i just dont feel im there yet personally. i mean i dont really draw to make pretty pictures in the first place. I draw and keep it loose because its a way of solving problems. they're just thoughts, scrap paper, a means to an end, something greater... ok im rambling

Part of the appeal of the rough sketch is that a viewer will subconsciously fill in the gaps, and complete the sketch, while the artist will not always be able to complete the drawing satisfactorily.

    This.
Same works even in more completed work, you don't have to render everything at same level finish as simpler parts can gives your focal points chance to shine and it gives more clarity to your piece. Study how old masters or more recent have done this.

I agree. I've seen many drawings and paintings that looked more powerful in progress than the finished version. This one for example:
