Scott Robertson's "How to render", Sam Nielson classes on schoolism, James Gurney book on color and light. For exercise try to paint a still life or go outside and paint an environment if you can.

He wrote it down somewhere... I think there's a double 0 in it.
    ...which is only my opinion.

go outside and paint from life, work small 8 x10, 9 x 12 practice accurate color and values and shapes but no details. No amount of reading will help you with seeing color and value realistically. Only working from life will do that. Reading comes after you work outside to help clarify what you have learned from observation.
