A Fairy Lady Takes Flight - and then stops to chat with you

This was done digitally but not sure if it is working or at a professional level. I was hoping to use it as an illustration for my unpublished novel. So many are doing artwork - at every level - that's breath-taking, and the bar has been raised to the stratosphere. Would appreciate any thoughts no matter how brief or unsure you might feel.

Be careful of over usage of soft brushes and be concious of your composition. Cutting images off the wrist can make for an awkward viewing experience and lead people to think you cannot draw hands. Work on create more solid planes and forms in their relation to the light that is falling on them. (Also establish a light source, even if it is out of the picture) before adding things like texture. Use large hard brushes to do this.
