    C&C on some watercolor :)

    HI everyone!

First time posting here... I am currently working with watercolors and studying some values on a series of cards with villains I like

This is a version of The Penguin, from Batman's universe

Any comments and critics are super welcomed!

Your values are bit muddy or too close together, you need clear separation of light and shadow, so I suggest you to do still life with one light from life and before it watch this:

Indeed, as you said, values are looking too close together... Proko's video made me understand better how should I approach this clear difference between light and shadow.

Thanks for the comments... I'll start applying them right away

I would say it is early days yet and the rough values are there crack on and paint the chap and lets see how it goes, I like him so far.
you might want to just rough him out again and use the original as the model, you can always start over then if you have any accidents.
one tip you could start with watercolour pencils rather than paints, get somewhere near with those and then start splashing the waters around.
That's assuming you are not doing a wet paint and wetting/ soaking the paper first. If you are going at the paper dry then pencils are great!!
