Paper VS Digital for the fundamentals

My question is pretty simple, do you recommend going back to paper to practice/learn the fundamentals?

I really enjoy digital painting, but I need more practice on anatomy and perspective (and well, a lot of other things). I was told that it did not change much which I chose to work with, that digital might even be better since it's what is used most in the movie/video game industry. But I just feel like if I can't do it properly on paper, I won't be able to do it properly on a tablet?

    Yes.

Also, whoever told you that was wrong. So very very wrong. In the history of being wrong, only a handful of people have ever been more wrong.

Doing studies on paper does not mean shelving your digital tools at all.

Agree with Mike here traditional is really good getting foundations down, digital can be problem for beginner because you don't really have to commit on anything.

Learning to draw and paint traditionally will just add another income stream to your artistic abilities. If you want to have a career that lasts more than ten years working traditionally will be essential to your longterm survival as an artist.
