    Jaleels SketchBook

Hello my name is Jaleel Rogers I am 25 years old and this is my first time posting anything online I don't even know if I'm doing this right. I have been looking at the work on this site and I want to try and become a apart of this community. I have always wanted to purse a career in Concept art but, I have had a hard time finding what I need to progress. I am trying to be more consistent with my practice so I'm going to work on this page ever week. I want to improve so I have been studying online resources and other artists, but I often have doubts about my age and skill level.

Here is a practices image that I made based off of a style from another artists. This is one of the most recent images that I have done.

    Character concepts Unfinished
1.Necro fisherman( I plan to finish this one at some point next month)

"This character is a man that was left to drown by his best friend after a demon fish dragged him to the bottom of lake Dead Depths. He was res-erected form his grave by the monster and now haunts the lake looking for revenge on his former friend by attacking anyone named David! "

2.Bunny girl samurai( I am going to finish this on this month after I rethink the design of the helmet and shape of the body.)

"This character is a young girl who must save her home by defeating a river demon that causes massive floods and storms every year unless a tribute of gold is made. Her twin brother, the once prophesied hero of her village, falls pray to the tricks of a young geisha fox that is in league with the river demon, and is transformed into a pig. Now with no hero she must take on the burden of rescuing her brother and her home."

Good studies Jaleel! I like your use of shapes, especially in those two last character designs. That pig is hilarious . In the FORCE figure drawings, you should take form and structure into account a bit more. The key is to balance FORCE, form and shape. Otherwise your figures can become too wobbly, as if they had no bones. Keep it up!

Thank you fantasyartist so much for your advice and input. I was a bit nerves to upload my art work at first. It is something I have never done before. I was hoping to receive advice from artists with deep wealths of knowledge, and I'm glad to see that I wasn't wrong. Your art work is amazing and I will take your advice to heart and try to implement it into my practice. Thank you again for this comment it means a lot to me.
