Think I did a lot today. There's still a lot to fix for the head, but I want to get more solid progress tomorrow instead of spending a a few hours only fixing a few things. Sometime, I should do some neck tracings, I think it would help me more with my necks later. Also, I really like my first page of 60 second poses :>.

features don't match each other, make sure they are all in one line, if you look at ASARO head you will see that eyeballs sit inside the socket yours are not deep enough, I recommend studying each feature separate and after you get a good understanding of them try drawing heads

light is coming from the top, you will have different parts of shadows and light like core shadow, reflected light, halftone, highlight, etc to make forms read.
and your shadows are not clean

Thanks for the helpful tips and videos as always :>. You mentioned the Asaro head before, but I pushed it to the side because I didn't really know how to practice it. I think I could do some tracings of the Asaro head over a face and see how that works later this week if school doesn't get too much in the way. Also, could you explain what you mean by the features don't match up with each other, make sure that they're all in one line, the eyes don't seem deep enough? I'm kind of confused what you meant by this because I did my best to make sure the the features were lined up in the same perspective.

Don't think I did that much today. I was trying to do something new with the one minute figure drawings, but didn't think it looked right haha. After that I just did some neck tracing. Tomorrow I'm going to try to have the redraw done, so probably going to skip a few things. I'm not sure how to render the metal earrings and I'm pretty sure the chest needs a little more smoothing out.

they don't line up as you can see, they should be parallel to each other
for the Asaro head, you should start by the basic Loomis construction and progress from there
John Asaro, creator of Asaro head says that you can't find all of this planes in one head, some are there and some are not, it's always a combination of planes if you are trying to do a photo layover, keep in mind that all of these planes are not there

Ah, I see now. I tried fixing the issue today and I think I fixed it correctly and thanks for the tips for the heads :>. by the way, do you have a sketchbook of your own? I would like to help you with your art progress too.

Spent all day trying to finish the redraw and it was worth it because I finished it. This took a lot longer than it needed to be, since half of the time I think I was just erasing and adding the same marks back in. I would say this is the best thing I've drawn in my life, but it could be much better. For example, the hair looks very unprofessional and that's because I've never looked into hair that much, but I think I tried once when I first started out. I used a filter to just black and white the final image and nothing else. Also took some pictures and tried to figure out some of the perspective that needed to be fixed before I was done and I noticed that the left chest with the collar bone is too high, so I'll fix it now then make a critique post. For some reason all of the images keep on failing to upload, but it you take a capture of it and include some parts that aren't part of the original picture it works.. so I'm pissed.

Couldn't get much done, but did something. Got home 3 hours late because there was a bunch of weather warnings and then I needed to work on an essay that I could've finished weeks ago lol. Might not be able to do much tomorrow either, since I know I have a bunch of homework due the day after, but if I'm able to do boxes tomorrow, then I'll also do some figures unlike today.

better now, I saw your critique post, I think using that kind of stylized reference is not good, try to use some photographs with good lighting.

maybe I will start a sketchbook in the future, I feel like this forum is not really active as it should be

I think using an anime picture as a reference is fine or just at least in this case, since my goal was to make a 2d character 3d. If I wanted to get a picture with good lighting of the character I would need to reference a fan art drawing someone else already made.

In that case can't force you to start a sketchbook lol, but I'll be looking forward to seeing your it soon :>.

I finished a lot of my work early, so I had a lot of time to practice. A common problem with my boxes is that one plane is always messed up, but today I just almost got a perfect box. Feeling kind of rusty with figures today and I skipped the 60 second ones again because I really wanted to do the tracings today. The tracing took about 40 minutes each and they were pretty hard. In both, I started with the mouth and chin area, then the nose, then the eyes, but after that I got pretty confused especially with the side plane areas.

Couldn't draw past two days because I really needed to study and I had hours of homework, but this weekend I don't have any homework at all . I wanna take a rest day today, since I haven't been getting any this week, but I drew this for a project in art class. It's a Libra Egyptian symbolism person. I think the legs are a little short, but I can fix it later. The project is suppose to be in colored pencil and I started it already and didn't take a picture. Messed up a few times, but it still looks good at a distance according to others.

Didn't do much today, but going to try to a lot tomorrow. I feel like I'm getting very close to becoming a master of boxes, but there's always just one point that's off < / 3. Tomorrow gonna try to do that dissection thing from drawabox and a small still life.

Trying to get back into my regular schedule. For art class at school, there's going to be a lot of assignments from school. I have to do 6 things every 9 weeks. Tomorrow going to try to do one of the human figures in perspective to combine the to exercises a bit, if it counts.
