My cousins from far away have been staying at my house, but I've still been practicing a little just not uploading. My main focus is the ellipses and two point perspective stuff atm for the drawabox lessons and I drew that sketch of that girl yesterday and it looks better than the last one :>. Also sorry for the shitty pictures; I don't want to take my sketchbooks out again.

I worked on the redraw today. I'm not done with the hair, but I think there's something wrong with the face or it might just be me being a perfectionist. It looks better than the other redraw, but now it looks like she changed ethnicity, but that's ok and I just black and whited the image so there wasn't any yellow light.

My parents decided to drag me around until late at night today, so couldn't get much done. Still not done with the hair and the skin of the body. This redraw isn't what I envisioned and in my opinion she looks pretty ugly.

But on the bright side I got a drawing tablet today :>. I bought an Intuos from Wacom and downloaded Krita, which is free, for the software. I'm having trouble trying to have the pen where I want it to be so I'm going to try to replace it as my mouse for awhile.

Mainly worked on the body today. Still need to work on the body, hair, ears, hands, and maybe the face. Might finish in one or two days. After this I'm planning to go back to the draw a box stuff and figure out how to work Krita before I do anything with it.

I finished with the redraw today and tomorrow I'll make a few edits if I see any and continue with the regular plus with the Krita program, then I'll spray it with a fixative. I'm still not happy with it though, don't know what's wrong with it. Hoping that next years I'll see a bigger improvement and maybe even redraw it digitally :>.

Did drawabox stuff today. Still bad at circles, but I tried to be more careful with the boxes and it worked a little :>.

Same old thing, but my boxes are a little better in my opinion. My parents keep on forcing me to do stuff because my cousins are here. I would do more, but my day is already really busy even though it's summer : ^).

Did the usual today. Circles suck, but boxes are ok. I'm going to try to move on to the next step of the lesson, since I think I'll have more time because my mom won't force me to go anywhere with her.

Mom keeps dragging me around to places to late at night, but I promised myself I would do a little more today : ^). I got frustrated because I felt like I wasted a month just drawing circles, but I looked back and saw some improvement and I was pretty supersized that I didn't notice anything earlier, but my ghosting has gotten kind of worse, my boxes with the ruler weren't good, and started to do rough perspective. Going to do even more tomorrow and try to do a little figure drawings.

Drawabox things from yesterday and today. Visiting family members went back to their towns, so I'll be able to have much more free time. I kind of get worn out easily (which is why I didn't do figure drawings when I said I would), so I'm going to try to practice stuff in two sessions now.

Nice start, I'm not a pro but I can give you some tips. I think you should work on your dexterity and handling your tool (pencil), and getting your lines clean
for head drawing use these 3d models to get understanding of 3D form that lies beneath that, for these models start with Straight on view, Profile, 3/4, after you mastered these views you can try them at some odd angles
Loomis, learn this method and use this for next models for lay in:https://sketchfab.com/models/d2020b0...04f04d082a3193
Planes of the head, this will familiarize you with shadow shapes and overall structure of the head: https://sketchfab.com/models/fd74ad7...2733316dc574b4
Skull, draw lots of skulls it's a foundation:https://sketchfab.com/models/1a9db90...0bc59f68123393
This is also a good model for understanding skull planes: https://sketchfab.com/models/3609778...5d5dd6cc0ca6a5

Also, I recommend you to draw some basic form(Primitives), you will use this simple form for breaking down human figure to simple forms or anything complex to simple, try to draw through them (Be able to draw the unseen ear)
    Cube:https://sketchfab.com/models/ace7580...c1385833e37da4
    Cylinder:https://sketchfab.com/models/ee6049f...280fd071783a02
    Sphere:https://sketchfab.com/models/78effb9...08666d4237dad6
Prisms are made of cubes and cones are made of cylinders, these are somehow secondary primitives
    Prism:https://sketchfab.com/models/ce15ccb...926e69644d10ed
    Cone:https://sketchfab.com/models/3cd9f46...964823c21891c5
I think Stan proko's anatomy course is awesome, but in my opinion, you first have to learn head drawing and it's construction also basic forms and work on your dexterity
I think some of your Photo references are not good, read this:http://www.stanprokopenko.com/blog/2...oto-reference/
and spend time finding a good reference, bad reference can make bad habits in your learning progress
    Hope this helps

Thanks for the big help :>. I've always had trouble with the Loomis method and always just put it aside, but I'll try to do what you recommended me daily.

Lazy day today, just wanted some rest. I did some earlier in the day and I kept on procrastinating before and during doing stuff, but I think I just need to get used to doing art at the time first. I tried doing some front view Loomis heads with help with the reference vodka gave me. I keep on making the heads too long and that has always been a problem for me. Did two short figures; I think I need to start going into more detail (but I don't know how to), since I've been doing those for a while and they're pretty easy now. Also did more drawabox stuff, still can't do lines and going to start doing this exercise that I never did that was part of the lesson. I've been on lesson 1 on drawabox for like 3 months now, so in two weeks tops I want to go to the next lesson.

I felt motivated today and didn't even get distracted by anything because I saw this video on youtube by jknews talking about youtuber burnout while doing loomis heads. It made me realize that if I need to work even harder if I want to be in the creative field.

I feel like I finally get what I'm doing with the heads now. I got the even leveled heads right before, but now I got the extremer angle correct thanks to vodka :>>.

I think the reason why I haven't felt motivated recently is because I haven't had fun in months with drawing. It's just been drawabox stuff and a little proko things. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to add more practice stuff by drawing nature things like plants, rocks, and clouds, then move on to skulls, crystals, and some animals.

Busy day, so I only had the night to draw. I did Loomis heads and drew a few plants, but no drawabox stuff. I think I'm ok wirh Loomis heads, so I'm going to try the planes head tomorrow. I had fun with drawing the plants and I found out that a really suck at leaves and it's shading with it's highlights. It's expected, since I never really drew any plants before.

You're getting better at Loomis heads, keep it up, but make sure before you get into planes you have mastered and memorized 3 generic angles, something I can see is your lines are a little bit messy, you will achieve beautiful crisp lines with mileage, but keep practising lines and circles and ellipses.
if you are struggling with drawabox lessons, I suggest you get Scott Robertson's basic form drawing DVD
and watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpqEE9yU474 this is all about those basic forms, you can apply these basic form by drawing simple still lifes like this https://vk.com/album-9084693_163204103
and make a well-thought schedule for your practice

Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions, greatly appreciated :>. I feel like I've got it basic angles down, but it just take me a little time to do any loomis head. I wouldn't say I'm struggling with drawabox stuff, but I'm just going at a really really slow pace. I'll also watch the video when I have the time to, but I haven't had the time recently. I do have a schedule of when to draw stuff and part of that time is in the middle of the day, but whenever my mom's off from work she likes to drag me to places when I tell her I don't want to go : ^) and it takes up a huge chunk of my day. She got the week off this week, so I'll have more time in a few days.

Had to spend most of my day out of the house, so only night time drawing again. Would've done more and would've done irl drawings, but I'm tired.

I tried taking a little step in drawabox lessons and I think I did mostly ok on it. Going to do the full thing tomorrow. Also did a few more loomis heads and one simple asaro face and it looks pretty weird. I got an anatomy book called Constructive Anatomy by George Bridgeman. The drawings inside look very cool, but I don't know how I'm going to use it yet. That's probably because I haven't read anything inside of it yet.

My practice from today and yesterday, been pretty busy past 2 days. Cubes and boxes make me want to die, but I learned that not everything is parallel in one point perspective for cubes as I always thought it was. Tomorrow I think I have the time for stuff, so I'm going to try to dedicate most of my day to practice. Gonna try to draw from stuff from life, more drawabox, figure drawings, and try to learn from that anatomy book I got a few days ago.

Also trying to draw with my shoulder more, since I've been drawing with my elbow most of the time and I'm going to start going to the drawabox discord server for extra help.

Had a lot of fun drawing the rocks today, most because it wasn't as bad as I thought they were going to be and the best part is that I didn't blend anything :>. Also, watched half of that long video vodka gave me and decided do a little practice of what the guy was saying and the boxes still make me wanna die, but it's slightly better than yesterdays. I finished my current sketchbook and put it the place were I store my sketchbooks. I looked inside of one from September 2017 and opened a random page of terrible loomis heads lol, guess I improved a little ;>.

Did irl rocks and rough perspective. Going to move on to the last lesson on lesson 1 after two months lol. Also, tomorrow I'm going to try to go outside and draw two pages of stuff, but not just rocks and do some skulls from image reference also.

Went outside and drew for about an hour. I would've gotten more short sketches in, but I still have that perfectionist mindset I need to get rid of. Also did a skull and decided to shade with no blending, but quit midway because I thought it looked crappy. I'll try again tomorrow with pen or the way I usually shade. Lastly, did the last lesson of lesson one in drawabox :>. Had trouble plotting the points because my ruler slips sometimes, but they said I'm not suppose to use a ruler and had trouble with the lines, since it was longer than I usually practice at.

From now on during my first drawing time, I'm going to be studying anatomy instead of drawing irl. Took notes from the anatomy book I got. I think the book is meant for college art majors, since the wording of the words is pretty complex, but I got most of it. The only part that was too confusing was when the book was describing the bone structure of the bones of the finger, but there were pictures on the next page, so I was good. I was pretty intimidated by all of the context and information just on the hands, so instead of drawing hands from the notes today, I'm doing it tomorrow lol. Also, regular drawabox stuff. One of the lesson advisers said the organic boxes were good, but the line weight on som boxes is better than others and I forgot to ad lighting.

Didn't have that much time to draw today and it took me a while to draw those fingers. Also did a little drawabox and going to move on to the 250 boxes challenge.

Since concept art went out for a few days, here's my stuff from the past few days. Mainly did drawabox, went back to proko, and experimented with digital with proko stuff.

Started the 250 Boxes Challenge for Drawabox and the Drawabox Discord server gave me a few critiques.

    Drawabox stuff:

Also did the chest assignment digitally. had lots of fun with it because digital was new to me, but I'm still being pretty shy with digital. I'm thinking about doing a 7 or 14 day Istebrak challenge to help me learn digital art, thinking about doing it when I'm done with Proko since Drawabox is taking forever. Also only uploading the final redo of each tracing. If I upload everyone there will be too much and the drawabox community critiqued a few and said that the blue part was suppose to be overlapping the others where the origin. Fixed a few with that critique in mind.

Did the usual. Also think my boxes aren't improving that much and moving on to obliques on Proko's course. I don't think what I'm doing everyday really counts as 'drawing' and all of the tips that every more experienced artist gives is to draw everyday. So starting sometime this week I'm going to try to do a little sketch of anything, like a portrait, part of the human body, or even some landscapes.

Did the usual with Proko notes, starting obliques assignments tomorrow, and going to try starting to sketch or 'draw' something everyday. I've been looking at other people's sketchbooks and there are some who are only 2 or 3 years older than I am who are like 50x more skilled, lol kill me.

Procrastinated a lot today, but still got a little done. For my 'draw everyday' thing I did a portrait of a game character and I didn't think I would have been able to do it because the view was looking from below, but I somehow did it :>. Started doing the robo beans from Proko and I think I'll use that way to draw all or most of my torsos from now on.
