    I did the usual and the sketch I like said a few days ago. I'm going to refine the sketch more tomorrow and try to shade it also.

    Worked on the project and did some Loomis stuff. Tomorrow I'm going to use all my art time for the project. I honestly don't know if this is looking better than my previous stuff or not and it looks very edgy : ^).

    Yesterday when I was working on the project I felt very negative towards the portrait : ^). I went back to it later and worked on the hand for a little bit then I went and did some stuff with the ctrl paint tutorials with Krita. I'm thinking about quitting this one and try again later this weekend, but I'll decide tomorrow.

    I think I can add some more hair to the back of the head because it seems to be lacking some mass there

    The goal was to try to copy the rendering and focus on brush control, but not necessarily worry about the shape. The ones with the stars are the ones that I found hard yesterday and did them today.

    I mainly did the second part of the worksheet today and I did one small form study that I started a week ago. I'll start doing warm ups again tomorrow and I'll start focusing more on form again and do digital last on the side. I might try doing the form studies digitally tomorrow also.

    I finished the small project : ^). It would've been much better if I didn't drain my own motivation for this by getting upset at it a few days ago, but anyways I just wanted to get it done. You can see that the flower is half assed and the flowing hairs in the front of her face looks out of place, same with that single bang on the eye lol. I'm going to move on from whole face and move on to specific parts of the face I think I need work on, which is the hair, lips, eyes, and ears, so pretty much everything. I'm gonna switch the specific part every few days for the next few weeks or so because I know I'll get bored of drawing the same subject for a days in a row. Also, I'll try to use pen for at least half of the practices.

    I did the usual and some lips stuff. From taking notes from Proko's lip anatomy video and doing some practice, there were a lot of big mistakes with just the lips: the minor planes of the lips aren't defined, there are no overlaps in the lips which makes it lack depth, philtrum got covered by nose shadow, the soft shadows on the ends of the lips look randomly shaded, bottom sides of the lip aren't formed correctly with the skin, and the ridge plane right on top of the lips is not there.

    I set a time limit for 15 minutes. The first thing I did was that I made a short pencil sketch of the lips and did it with ink then did the stuff around it. My observation still needs some work, since a lot of the things were not proportional and also I messed up in a few places with the pen.

    Got home kind of late and didn't want to do too much since I have to wake up early to go on a field trip. The field trip consist of going to two museums, so I'm going to draw sculptures and master paintings whenever I can and I'm looking forward to it :>.

    I did the usual for today. I tried doing lips today with graphite but without blending. Line and boxes are still pretty hard : ^) and I should start being neater with them also.

    Didn't do much today mainly because I was sleep and lazy and tomorrow I'll do my best to keep up with my routine again instead of falling sleep. I kept on messing up on the rotated boxes and being a perfectionist I wasted time by starting over 6 times. The shaded lips are probably the best lips I've ever done, but don't mind the surrounding skin : ^). Also, did a figure from photo afterwards, but real life figure drawing is much more fun.

    @nickstar
    Thank you, I'm glad that my sketchbook helped you :>

    I slept through my drawing time again : ^). I'm think that lips are becoming more understood and easy, so I did a post assessment thing with not pre assessment : ^), but the finished portrait I did a week ago can serve as the pre I guess. I think the results are better than the finished portrait, so I'm moving on. Also, I think I can do a little more studies with the skin around the lips. I'm going to start studying the hair and I think it's one of the worst things in the portrait and I took some notes from Proko; I would've done notes on the nose, but I think the nose looks good.

    Here's some of the stuff I did last week. I had a big school project so I had to skip a few days : ^). Right now I'm focusing on skulls. I know where the different parts of the skull go, but I have a hard time rotating and changing angles like I have the face. Likely because I'm not good at perspective.

    Did a memory test with the skulls again and a tiny bit of loomis. The memory test I did was better than the one I did last time imo and also tomorrow is going to be my last day for skulls. I'm going to do skulls on the side also along with loomis. Also started doing the skulls bigger than two inches. I might have a little less time for my art studies for some days because I'm starting to add an exercising routine right after I come home from school : ^).

    Pretty obvious that you're working real hard on improvement. Ctrl paint is great, I love the way he breaks down the studies. Keep it up!

    @shamandalie
    Thanks : ). I'm trying to improve as quickly as possible lol.

    For the final skull day, I did a memory test again. I'm doing ok with the even perspective ones, but I still have trouble with the looking above and below ones as usual : ^). At least I know the gist of the skull now and tomorrow I start studying the torso again. My main goal is to be able to draw the torso comfortably without much reference.

    I was really worn out today with school, exercise, and a lot of homework : ^), so I'm taking a rest day. I actually planed to do the eyes instead of the torso, but it's still good. They definitely still need work : ^).

    Did some form studies and one render today. The form studies are messy on some of them. Would've done the render in charcoal, but I don't really want to do with the mess lol. Also, I think the eye is pretty typical, but it's nice practice I guess. I find drawing the circle for the eyeball to be very helpful, so I'm going to try implementing that into my full drawings : ).

    Didn't do that much today : ^). I tried to move on with Loomis, but I'm getting pretty confused. I think I'll figure it out if I try practicing it more. Also did another photo study, but with mostly charcoal this time. Tomorrow I'll try to do an eye without reference and I'll study some charcoal techniques.

    Thanks : ), I'll do my best to keep on going.

    I don't think today was very productive : ^). I did some Loomis stuff and one and a half eyes without reference. I'll finish the rest of the unfinished eye tomorrow and I still think I can still fix the other eye. Also for tomorrow, I'll draw some eyes on the same size I usually do for my finished portraits. I don't know for the front torso part of my planning whether of not to just study the front torso and other parts or actually focus with Loomis, since Loomis focuses on the whole body also.

    Taking a rest day today since it's the last day for the eyes and I'm also very exhausted : ^). I don't want to limit myself by forcing myself to move on if I still don't feel comfy with the subject I'm studying, but I think I have a better understanding of the eye now.

    I also decided that I would study the parts of the body that I'm planning to do and then I'll completely focus on it on the full body portion, so I know how to put the body parts together more easily.

    I started my front torso part and did a pre assess thing today. I want to be able to draw the torsos comfortably. My form definately needs work and so does my boobs and abs area : ).

    My plan for today was to just finish up the pre assess, but I finished very early to call it a day and didn't know what to do afterwards : ^). I might choose to shade the last pre assess one, but I didn't want to because I thought it looked very weird and stiff. I decided to do a little figure drawings trying to focus on the front torso, but not really. I tried to do a study in pen, but kinda gave up before I started and I'm going to do photo studies of form in pen. I'll try not to do just plain grids and try to make it look like and actual drawing.

    I didn't really want to do form studies and then I didn't know what to do : ^). Some people in my art class like drawing with sharpies a lot and we're doing a project involving them, so I did a bunch of photo studies from photos saved on my computer with sharpies. I remember drawing the portrait one a long time ago and it took me a very long time, but now it only takes me 15 minutes : ).

    I was watching some Bobby Chiu podcast streams and he convinced me to replace my warmups with doodling : ). A while ago I said I would start doodling, but never did it. I'll start it tomorrow and it's making me a little nervous lol.

    Today was pretty unproductive, especially with the torsos. With the doodle stuff, I was getting anxious with what to draw because I wanted to do something that was fun and something that was in my comfort zone, but that would've been boring : ^). I stared at the blank sketchbook for about an hour until I got the courage to do stuff I usually don't do. Instead of little things like the top two I'll make my doodles like the bottom part. I was really demotivated when I had to do the torsos, since I think I know how the gist of the torso already. If I want to make characters they're gonna have clothes on most of the time, so I should start studying how clothes is affected my gravity and the body beneath it.

    The 'doodle' was inspired from a song called Anahera by Ferry Corsten. I had a much more elaborate picture in my mind, but it required a lot more than what I knew, but next time I'll just do it : ^). It took me a long time just to get the face right, but I used a reference for the face shape, but for the warm up doodles I'll try not to use references for now on.

    Rally tired today and I kept on getting distracted when I was doing the clothes pre assess thing. I don't think I did my best with the clothes, but it's a pre assess anyways : ^), so I'll start doing some photo studies of clothes soon and it looks like I don't know what clothes really looks like even though I see and wear it everyday : ^), so I'll start paying attention to the things people at my school wear now.

    For my 'doodle' or warmup I did a life observation of a fake plant in my house and my time limit was 1 hour. I think the brush work wasn't done that well and it's not accurate to what I was observing.

    Here's my stuff from today. I wanted to fill up the whole page today, but it was getting late : ^). Also, I'm going to try to draw stuff from imagination at least 4 times a week for my warmups.

    I had a lot of family events going on and now I have exam testing : ^). For my warmups, I'm thinking about pulling my drawing time earlier, so I have an hour to do warm ups and also I don't want to limit myself to just doing things from imagination, so I might do observation stuff for the warmups also.

    Stuff from the past 5 days or so:

    I tried drawing a man-made pond from observation at a family member's house and it didn't turn out well.. I had to stop because it was getting dark. I heard grids may help me perspectives like this, but I tried : ^).
