    Did a two point perspective box shape in school today and I think I'll be able to do some perspective stuff tomorrow there too. I'm going to redraw the face tomorrow and finish the whole thing, so I'm going to spend less time on perspective at home. I realized the head isn't completely front view : ^).

    I accidentally fell asleep and work up somewhat late, then I was stuck doing homework : ^). I felt like ass all week because I've been sleeping so late and waking up very early, so I'm going to try to change that. Monday-Thursday, I'm going to try to finish homework as soon as I get home from school, eat dinner, do homework if I still have any (if not rest), then start practicing drawing between 8-9PM instead of the usual 9-10PM and also cut down phone use more even though I already cut it down to average 1 hour a day on it.

    My art class finally started drawing figures and we're using classmates as the figures. This is my first irl figure drawing :>. I got some advice to draw basic shapes first then add details later, so I'll try it tomorrow. I'll also try to add smallish contour lines if I have enough time to. The person I drew is a lot bigger than I am and she participates in a bunch of school sports, so that's why she has broad shoulders for a girl : ^).

    Insanely awesome sketchbook! Amazing amount of studies and it has great consistency and practice of the correct fundamentals, at so many points I recognized the studies that I also did, really nice stuff. I'm not sure what those eyes studies are over and over again? Based on the notes it seems like you are trying to get it 100% accurate to a reference or something? If thats the case I really dont see the point in doing it again just because you curved one line slightly but maybe you can enlighten me? Overall your stuff is looking so promising and if you keep this up you're definitely going places!

    @Dennis Van Kessel
    Thanks for the motivation Dennis :>. The eye studies are from the Bargue Plates course that someone recommended me to do and yeah the goal was to get it to pretty much perfect. On the course description it was also recommended to redraw each eye 3 times. I pointed out each curve to help train my eye to find mistakes, but looking back I don't know if I wasted weeks of my drawing time or if it really did help me with observation. Even if I didn't do any Bargue plates I still would've been doing observational drawing a lot of things.

    @Dominicque1
    yes

    Did more figure drawings in my art class today, did a little perspective stuff, and attempted the face thing again. I feel like this week was not really productive at all : ^), but it's the weekend and it's going to snow, so there will a few days off and I don't have much homework :>. The face study, for some reason, is very hard. I can't seem to get the face to look right : ^). I'm going to try to do that face one more time tomorrow and if it doesn't turn out well I'm going to just contour the first one I did. I started my figure today with an oval for the head and then a rectangle shape for the body. Maybe I'll look at some figure drawing videos again like in the Summer on some tips.

    Did the regular. I'm going to contour the face tomorrow and probably start on another. The new mirroring perspective exercise is very hard : ^) because I found out the exercise is two point perspective and I have a hard time estimating vanishing points < /3. I probably shouldn't have darkened the lines on the portrait, but next time I won't darken it.

    nice, i see improvement, your eyes are getting tuned, I suggest doing some master studies of portraits, copy some Sargent portraits, try to be accurate as much as u can, the reference you are using is not good, you need harsh lighting at first, to understand planes, this is why copying Sargent portrait will help you understand light on head

    @vodka
    Thanks vodka : ). I might try the things you suggested later this week if I have the time to, but I think the reference that I'm using like with the face contours are ok. As long as I can identify the forms of the references I'm looking at I think I'll be ok.

    Didn't have a good day. I'm going to be switching my focus from perspective to form and maybe observation. Tomorrow I have the day off because school was canceled, so I'll try to make myself more motivated tomorrow, so I can get some mileage in by practicing the notes I took today from other guy's notes and fix the proportions/contour the face I've been trying to perfect all week.

    Did more form stuff. School starts again tomorrow < /3, so I'm going to those lines, circles, and ellipses when I'm resting from school because my line confidence still needs a lot of work. Like when I'm watching stuff or something like that. Then, when it's time I'm going to shut off my computer, unless I need it since it's a distraction < /3. Also for the faces, going to take a picture then upload it to my computer so my reference isn't so small anymore.

    Took much longer than it needed to be : ^)

    Here's yesterdays stuff. I was too tired to post and I slept over part of my drawing time < /3. I always wanted to know how to draw plants, but they always turned out bad probably because I never really understood form that much. So, I'm going to start focusing on them for the next week or maybe more.

    I tried out chalk pastel for the first time in art class today and I might go buy some of my own : ^). Also drew a plant and finished the face. The face sketch was from yesterday and the shading was from today.

    For the first two figures, it took me some time to know how to use the chalk pastel, but I think I figured it out by the third figure.

    Thanks :>, wouldn't have made any progress without your help < 3

    I really didn't feel like drawing today, so I only photo studied a plant. It doesn't look exactly like the picture, but I got practice with different angle of leaves and some contour
    lines. I wanted to do a final outline then it started looking bad because my line control isn't good lol : ^).

    Here's yesterdays stuff. Overslept past my drawing time and it was getting late when I finished < /3. I just started another contour person and a little daily stuff. I also did two figures in class that day and it didn't turn out good at all : ^).

    Did the usual today with some perspective. I drew my first large tree ever without quitting it : ^). I'm not happy with the tree, but at least you can tell it's a tree lol.

    I think I might've made the dip part on the top half of the lip a little too long and the v neck muscle part looks weird also.

    Today was a pretty unproductive and maybe it was because I didn't feel that motivated, but I had more fun towards the end of the night. I feel like my observation skills improved quite a bit since I started doing those facial expression contours :> and gridding stuff has become a lot easier and just a little quicker. I didn't really feel like doing a big plant photo study, so I just did a little leaves, but tomorrow I'm going to try to draw and shade a plant in my house where my family can see me.. : ^) Also I'll being adding two point perspective into my daily line stuff because I suck at estimating : )

    Did the real life observation plant like I promised yesterday :> and I'm satisfied with it because you can tell what's in front and what's in the back of the plant, but it's not really proportional and it took two hours because I messed up so many times : ^). For the contour portrait, the contours aren't going up and down because I wanted to try to give more of a focus to the girl's pushing lips, but I don't know how I feel about it since the eye area looks screwed up. Also did the usual today. I would've done more perspective stuff, but I had today off and I needed to study for a test and do homework < /3.
