    Concept paint- personal project

    Hi,

I'm trying to improve my skills as concept artist in my spare time, this is one of the latest paints I've done.

It's nicely composed. The problem areas are the fabric areas. Any light touching fabric (the one red girl's dress, for instance) will bring the fabric WAY lighter than what you have here. Also the awnings--are they catching sunlight? I can't tell. And, the fabric on the two girls nearest to the camera isn't lit correctly. You should work from a model in these situations. Armand Baltazar does, James Gurney does. It's normal. For example, the green girl (farthest to right) has a weird left shoulder. Only other thing is to use more polygonal lassos to get your straight lines for architecture.

    Hi jeckert55,

Thanks for your feedback, I do agree with all your comments and will keep them in mind for future paintings.

    Thanks very much,
    David.
