Learning to paint...
So, I've been illustrating for quite some time. Mainly comic book type stuff that relies heavily on line art. My problem is, I'm trying to get away from that and do more painting, but I just cannot seem to get away from the line art. It is almost like training wheels for me and when I remove it, my paintings looks so flat. I know that I must practice, practice and practice more, but any tips or tricks given would be greatly appreciated. Here is a practice piece that still has the pencil lines in it. I am using Corel Painter 2017.

Paint a simple still life.

Not sure what that has to do with Painter. I'm sure the OP knows about vectors.
