Thanks for the encouragement and critiques! The line art is done, I just have to add a few tattoos and clothing patterns and then I'll clean it up for the color. I took your advice about using references for the pose and body and scaling it down overall (even though this one is meant to be the final line art, not a sketch -- I needed to scale it down so I could draw her full body anyway) and it really helped. The reference image can be found here: http://senshistock.deviantart.com/ar...wing-647165512

The lines are mostly set at this point considering I already inked it, but criticism is still welcome so I'll know what to fix next time!

That is a huge improvement from your initial sketch. Can't wait to see it with color.

I finished the color! I'm gonna try to take a better picture to post in the finals thread but other than that it's done. I've always had a hard time with color so critiques are more than welcome! I can't change much on this, but it's good to know what I should do different in the future.

The idea behind the design is that since the festival takes place at the beginning of summer, the women decorate themselves to celebrate the sun -- lots of bright yellows and oranges, both in their clothes and in their tattoos. All contestants wear a large yellow lip piercing, and the winner is given a head piece made of tusks and braided cloth, which she coats in the blood of her opponents to display her victory. What do you think?
