Nathan Peyton - Color and Light 1.1
Hey there. I decided to work in a middle key for this. My intention was to only have detail in the light areas (to follow along with the video), but I think I got too caught up in the variations of the mass shadow.
I took the longest time figuring out my fill lights in the mass shadow, since the mass light was covering more flat planes (except for the chest, which wasn't a focus for me). I kept the dark core shadows in the middle of the face to help focus the eye, and toned down the darks in the neck cast shadow. I paid special attention to the radiosity under the chin, which I kept close in value to my halftones.
I also found that, while keeping my hair in my peripheral vision, my hair faded into the background, so I decided to keep the values the same. I only used highlights for small detail work at the end.
Looking forward to any feedback. Thank you!
