I've definitely thought about it! And certainly wouldn't turn down a writer if they had some cool ideas and time to put into a project.

I've had a few of my writer friends express an interest in my drawings so who knows, maybe something will happen.

They're beautiful. I'm wondering if you'd be willing to post some process pics somewhere because I'm curious to see how you develop the idea. Do you pretty much imagine the whole thing first, or start with an abstract 3 value design, or what?

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I'm going to put together a time lapse video when my computer can handle it, or maybe just do a few short clips to show how I approach things. It's on my to do list

I usually go out for a walk if I want ideas... There's a lot of really cool tiny shapes in nature that work as a basis for entire scenes once I add in some otherworldly structures and characters.

Everything from then on just tends to fall into place, especially when I'm drawing for myself. It's awesome that I don't have to answer to anyone or justify anything... I keep in the stuff that works and scrap the stuff that doesn't. As long as it doesn't stray too far from my original idea I'm happy.

    You're very welcome.

I haven't been experimenting much with this way of working recently. I've been spending more time on my painting which is probably more suited to the fine art / illustration side of things rather than the concept art forums - hence my time away.

I've been noodling over some bits though. I know this is the finished work section but if you don't tell anyone I'd love to share this little progress gif with you guys.

I feel like I've come a long way in a short space of time.

This one isn't perfect... in fact I can easily pick faults in all of my work. But I definitely learnt a lot producing this!
